What lotion do you recommend post augmentation?

Question

On my list of instructions my dr recommends a "light weight unscented" body lotion to gently hydrate my breasts post op as they heal. I picked up cetaphyl unscented lotion and was wondering what you guys use/recommend..? Open to suggestions or anything that has worked for you! Please and thank you! Loving my girls I want to hydrate them properly! I am loving that breastfeeding stretch marks seem to have plumped and disappeared with this augmentation :)

Hi. Cetaphyl is a great choice.  Other options include Neutrogena or Strivectin.  Moisturizing helps avoid new stretchmarks and the massage is useful for reducing swelling, relaxing the pectoralis muscle, etc.   Good luck!

Hello,Any gentle, unscented lotion should be fine. I don't place any restrictions on the type of lotions my patients can use post op however I do advise you keep lotion & oil away from steri strips so that they stay intact.All the best

Thank you for your question and congratulations on your breast augmentation.  I recommend a non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, hydrating and unscented lotion or oil.  This can include cetaphil or fractionated coconut oil.  Hope this helps.

Good afternoon,when it comes to suggestions for lotions post surgery I always reccomend cetaphyl. Neutrogena is another great option but if you have already bought Cetaphyl I would just stick to that.

Congrats on having your procedure.I agree with what you are using.  Unscented lotion for the first week or two then any lotion youlike afterwards.  The stretch marks always become more visible in the first few weeks post op , then appear as they did pre-op (sometimes even better looking).Follow your Plastic Surgeons instructions and you will do well.Best oif luck.Dr. T

is a lot of creams on the market, that make different claims. I feel the
moisturizing the incision and using sunblock is good start. Silicone strips can

I assume he wants you to moisturize your incisions once they have healed adequately. Cetaphyl is fine.

I generally recommend Eucerin or Palmer's cocoa butter when I think general over-the-counter moisturizer.  That being said, change in your breast skin after an augmentation is unlikely, but dry skin should always be moisturized for overall skin health and protection.  Moisturizers may also aid in needed massage for implants after augmentation surgery.  Hope that helps!

Thank you for your question.  I agree with your PS , it should be unscented and hydrating.  As long as your scars are healed you can start using a silicone gel ointment or gel strips.
