I just had male gyno surgery. My doctor told me to wear the compression wrap for 3 days then I could remove it. Is this normal?

I'm just wondering how long I should wear the compression wrap for. My doctor recommended 2-3 days I've worn it for about 3-4. Is it needed for my recovery? I only had the glands removed lipo was not needed. They were removed on both sides.
