I had a tummy tuck, breast lift, and liposuction with Dr. Kayan three weeks ago. Already I’m absolutely thrilled with my results, and I know they will continue to improve as I heal and recover. Dr. Kayan was extremely thorough in my consultation and spent a lot of time making sure my questions were answered. Krissy and Ting are also wonderful and were incredibly responsive to my texts and emails throughout the whole process. I opted for just a breast lift without augmentation, which I was nervous about because I didn’t want to lose too much volume and wanted my breasts to remain proportional to my body. I’ve also seen many breast lift results where even after a lift, the breasts look flat and don’t have much upper fullness. Dr. Kayan so far exceeded my expectations with the results on my breast lift. Even only 3 weeks out, they look 99% better and I know they’ll continue to improve. With my tummy tuck, my main aesthetic concern was my belly button. I really dislike that many tummy tuck patients end up with a very thin and unnatural looking belly button. I shared this with Dr. Kayan and she assured me that I would have a very natural look, and she delivered. I’m extremely happy with how my belly button looks, and I know it will continue to improve. Dr. Kayan’s post op instructions were very clear and detailed, which I think helped greatly with my recovery. At three weeks post op, I feel basically back to normal already. I cannot recommend Dr. Kayan enough. I did numerous consultations before choosing her, and now that I’ve had my surgery I am even more confident that I made the right choice.
I had a tummy tuck with Lipo to the flanks and breast removal /inserted new along with Lipo to fatty tissue under arms and fixed two hernias. This was done by Dr Tracy Kayan , she is down to earth, really cares, listens, and really makes sure we are in the same page! I did come up with more questions along the way, texted asking, all were answered! Great staff to work with - of which all are female. Updated on 26 Sep 2022: I have had zero pain with this tummy tuck! Took my meds as told for the first three days then just Tylenol. I didn’t need a few items that were recommended on this site, so I will list what I did need! - Heating pad - was really cold after and my back was achy from recliner. - Metamucil with softener - Started taking this two days prior to surgery and it helped immensely going to the bathroom when needed! You cannot use your abs to push. - gauze pads 2x2 ( Self adhesive is best) or tape - shower chair (borrowed from senior center) - recliner ( motorized is best because you can’t push the arm up and down) no strength And again you can’t use your abs! - Tylenol That’s it! Let me know if you have any questions I would love to help people prior I did so much research. Also I highly recommend asking the Dr. To Mark with a sharpie on your binder for stomach, that they give you & put on you after surgery to show how tight it should be! As you can see the red marks on my stomach I was putting it on way too tight, almost like a corset I had no idea.
Mommy Makeover Mini Tummy Tuck Revision & Implant size increase and shape change 40yr mom 2, not under muscle implant on revised nor new implant. Nipple size reduced both times second full mommy tummy tuck and implant revision the nipple was strategically utilized to lift the breat high & tight. Ahhhhhmaxing results!!! Kayan and her “family” style team are so phenomenal it’s unheard of to find care or guidance to match anywhere else not to mention urgency and sincerity. LOVE LOVE LOVE DR. Kayan & team!!
I had a tummy tuck with liposuction in July and could not be happier with the entire experience Dr. Kayan and her team provided. The day of the surgery I felt calm and taken care of and during my recovery someone was always available to answer any questions that might come up. The results are beyond my expectations.
Dr. Kayan and her staff were very responsive to all inquiries (when making my decision to have surgery) and then again to answer all questions and concerns once I decided to have my procedure. We handled initial “appointment” and follow-up by phone so I didn’t need to travel multiple times. Dr. Kayan contacted me the day before to see if I had any concerns or questions and also contacted me after discharge. The doctor listened to what it was I was trying to achieve and was honest about expectations. Very happy with my choice of surgeons.
My daughter turned 18 yesterday. I have dreamt about having a mommy makeover since shortly after she was born. It took me 18 years. But... it's finally HAPPENING!!!! I am seeing Dr. Kayan with Kayan plastic surgery in Minnetonka, MN! I already feel like she's a bagel sent to me. I cannot wait to go through this journey with her and her team by my side. Surgery is 10/22/21! Wish me luck!!! Updated on 5 Oct 2021: I am using this as a diary for myself. So here are my wish list pictures! I am only doing hem for my breast lift/augmentation. I have complete trust in the tummy tuck and lipo. I feel like that’s kinda something you have to let the Dr do what they can and what is best. But with breasts here is definitely more room to pick out what you hope to have. I do not want super high profile. I’m 37 not 27. So I want them to be appropriate for my age. Fullness is really important to me. Eeek! I’m so excited! Is it October 22nd yet? Updated on 18 Oct 2021: We met with Dr. Kayan to do sizing and I am really torn on what size to go with. So we are letting her take the wheel and decide what size is best for me. Currently I am a 38C. We are hoping for a full D. She’s going to do a reduction only left side to even me out. And then she’ll do an additional reduction on both sides if she feels the implants are giving me he upper pole fullness that I’m seeking without making me too large. Essentially to replace the breast tissue with implant volume. She’s ordering in 270CC and 285CC. I completely trust Dr. Kayan. I know she’ll do what fits my body best. I’m really not worried about the tummy tuck. I know I’m in for a world of hurt. But I trust that she’s going to do a beautiful job on my stomach. I know I’m going to be getting a slight mons lift in addition to a little bit of a upper thigh lift, just from her pulling that lower stomach up. I’ll also be having liposuction on my sides. It’s really just the breasts that I’m worried about. Not too small. Not too big. But again, anything will be better than what I’ve got going on now! Eeeek!!! 3 more days!!!! Updated on 18 Oct 2021: I can’t believe I’m posting tear. But, I know I will definitely be happy to look back at them after I am healed. Updated on 22 Oct 2021: I am here and waiting patiently for surgery to start! I can’t even believe it’s happening!!! Not feeling nervous. Just excited! I can’t wait to wake up to the body I’ve always dreamed of having. Now it’s time for a nice long nap! ???? Updated on 27 Oct 2021: Surgery went amazing (Friday)! Dr. Kayan and all of her staff are top of the line. The first 24-36 hours wasn’t that bad. The majority of the pain I’ve had was in my breasts. The TT, MR & Lipo really left me just slightly sore and the incisions bark at me if I move wrong. The exhaustion was intense. I couldn’t keep my eyes open for more than 10 minutes at a time for about 48 hours. Mid day Saturday my back was really sore from being hunched over and also from sleeping in the recliner. I thought a shower might feel nice. I took my bandages off for he first time and saw everything and I melted down. My tummy is so square and swollen (normal but try telling my brain that). My breast each look like they have a top breast and bottom breast. The implants are so high up. Dr. Kayan told me to expect this until they “drop and fluff”. But seeing it in real life is shocking. My plan was to shower and I just couldn’t do it. By the time I got all of the bandages off and looked at myself in the mirror and melted down I was exhausted and my back was throbbing. So we ended up putting my compression garments back on and I spent the rest of the day in the recliner. Sunday I ended up being home alone for quite a while. Which ended up being OK. It was challenging. But, I think I just needed to be by myself. I ended up taking two showers that day. Both felt great until m back started barking at me from hunching over. And sitting in a shower chair didn’t give me much relief either. I also spiked a fever Sunday afternoon and Dr. Kayan said it was due to something called Atelectasis which is induced from anesthesia and is due to not taking deep breaths and laying around lengthy periods of time during recovery. I had the fever for around 12 hours (it was hell) but was able to get it under control by walking around and taking deep breaths as she suggested. Sunday night and Monday morning I was very sore and I had a headache that I couldn’t shake. I realize two things, I did a little too much Sunday (laundry, light chores and made dinner) and I had forgotten to drink ALL the fluids. So I spent all Monday/Tuesday in the recliner stayed on top of my meds/fluids and didn’t do anything but rest. Today is Wednesday and I’m doing the exact same thing. I’m going to allow myself to continue to rest with nothing else on my list of things to do for another couple days. And I’m not going to feel bad about it! And the highlight of the week…I pooped finally!! That was awful! I should’ve started he stool softeners the week before surgery. Note to self for any future procedures. Yikes! I see Dr. Kayan on Friday and I’m very much looking forward to her making me feel better about the implants. Because right now I think they are so ugly and I’m afraid they’re too small. But I know I’m supposed to trust the process. So cheers to me trying! Oh and I weighed myself. I am up 11lbs since Friday (5 days ago). So that whole water weight thing is a real deal! Do yourself a favor and don’t weigh yourself. That messed with my head too! Here’s my most current pre-op/post-op pics. I can’t wait until I love the new body on the right. Right now I cringe. Updated on 9 Nov 2021: Remember that whole “trust the process” thing??? Dang it’s hard! But it’s true! Here I am two weeks post op. I am feeling great! I lost all 14lbs of fluid that I had gained from swelling. I’m only taking Tylenol as needed. And overall I am loving what I’m seeing. My breasts are still frustrating me. But, Dr. Kayan reminded me at my two week appointment that it can take up to a year for them to “drop and fluff”. Has it been a year yet???
Dr Kayan is the best doctor I've ever seen. She takes all the time you need to discuss your options. She gets you in quickly. She is available 24/7 to her surgery patients even after the procedure which Is so rare. Her work is top notch and compares easily to the Miami and California work. I've had 2 separate surgery with her now 6 months apart so I can say her level of care is consistently above the bar. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair, breast augmentation with doughnut lift and lipo to flanks. And I looked bomb! I wanted a more dramatic look so I went back for lipo 360 plus arms/pits and woke up looking like a freaking Barbie doll I kid you not! I've had numerous consults and even was going to go somewhere else before I found her then canceled (losing money even - worth it!)
Dr. Kayan and her team have been amazing since day one of inquiring about a breast augmentation. The team is very quick to respond to questions and very accommodating. Dr. Kayan walks you through every possible thing you need to know in a gentile and comforting way. She truly wants you to be 100% happy with your choice prior to moving forward. She reached out the Friday before surgery to see if I had any questions, was very comforting the morning of surgery, and sent several texts after surgery checking in to make sure I was ok and comfortable. I am so happy that I chose Dr. Kayan and would 110% recommend her.
I have 3 kids with a single first followed by twins 2 years later and have been wanting a tummy tuck for a few years now. I really enjoyed my experience with Dr Kayan and am so pleased with my results. Im just 2 weeks post op from a tummy tuck but everything has gone smoothly and I'm very happy with what I am seeing so far. Recovering wasn't the best thing I've ever gone through but it wasn't awful either. Dr Kayan and her team have been accessible and really hands on with the whole process. Very happy with my decision.
Dr. Kayan is not only very kind, she is also a fantastic surgeon. I could go on about how she's an amazing woman and great with patients, but even better are the results!! After losing 80+ lbs, (I'm in my early 20's, 5'4, and 215lb to 130lb) I went from a 38 DDD to a 34 C and I couldn't wear a bra anymore because my tissue just wrinkled and folded over itself. It started to impact me so much I couldn't see myself naked anymore without crying, I stopped showering naked, and my quality of life was suffering. I wished I never even lost the weight because I felt like a stranger in my body from all the loose skin I had. Dr. Kayan gave me the freedom to shower again, to look in the mirror again, and that impacted my mental health more than any CBT session or medication. I feel like I have my life back, this was the best decision I've ever made for myself. Dr. Kayan delivered the most natural results (perfect nipple placement) and I cannot recommend her team, her work, or herself enough. I gained about 8 pounds back but I am happy with the fullness that returned and plan to stay around 140lbs.
I am sorry to hear about your complications after you had your implants placed. While you do have some extra skin which will likely exacerbate with the removal of your implants, whether or not you want a lift now depends on how happy you were with your breast position before you had your implants placed. If back then prior to your implants, the thought crossed your mind to have a lift, then now is a good time so you would only need 1 recovery from surgery rather than doing lift surgery at a later time.
From your photos, it does not appear you need a formal lift. Your implants have bottomed out quite a bit, so you might benefit from a wedge excision of the breast, which is basically removal of a wedge of skin from the underside of the breast that will allow the incision to hide in the breast crease, and also help reset your breast crease higher. You will also want to make sure your surgeon considers where the implant removal scar will be, if they are performing a total capsulectomy as well, and possibly talk about repairing your pectoralis major muscle to prevent too much movement post operatively.
Whether or not you want to do a lift with your explant depends completely on your goals. With explant alone, you can likely expect the areolas will shrink (because they are no longer being stretched out by the implant), so any asymmetry that you see now will become less obvious. Your nipple position is only slightly low, and you do appear to only have a minor excess of skin, so a lift would be completely up to you at this point. A benelli would not give you a very dramatic result. If you are unsure if you want an anchor pattern scar, which is much more visible, I would advise just having the explant at this point - you can always then consider your options at a later time.
There are probably a lot of different names to describe the same procedure, as it does not have an official name, as far as I know! This procedure, which removes a wedge of extra skin from the underside of the breast and hides the incision in the breast crease, is useful when removing implants because a lot of the time the implant has bottomed out and created a longer distance between the nipple and the lower breast crease. The removal of extra skin help make the breast appear more natural and round, and also allows the surgeon to reset the inframammary fold to a higher position if necessary. I would want to avoid this procedure on anyone whose nipple position is already low, because it can tend to pull the nipple downward, which is not favorable in all people.
The best way to choose a size that you like is to do exactly what you are doing in your photos, but at a surgeon's office where you can see what actual implants of different sizes look like with you in different types of clothing. For sizing, I typically have patients bring an unpadded bra or bralette that they want to fit into after surgery, as well as tops/shirts that they would typically wear. We then try each size of implant in place, making sure we define which ones are definitely too big, and which ones are definitely too small. We take photos of the patients (on their own phones) with the various sizes in place, so they can study these later and try to objectively see whether or not the implants look proportionate. The key is not to get stuck on a particular cc size or bra size, as each person's individual body frame dictates how a certain cc size will look.
