In most cases, I would stage these procedures and wait at least 3-6 months after butt implant removal before considering a BBL. The goal is to let the implant pocket collapse, swelling settle, scars mature, and any fluid collection, infection, or wound issue fully resolve. If the implant removal was complicated by infection, capsule problems, thin tissue, or poor healing, the waiting period may need to be longer, sometimes closer to 6-12 months. The best timing depends on your exam, the condition of the soft tissue, and whether there is enough donor fat for a safe, meaningful result. A board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in both implant removal and BBL can examine you and decide when the area is stable enough. For safety, fat should be placed only in the appropriate subcutaneous plane, not into the muscle.
