I scar so easily just curious if anything less extreme would work? If a tummy tuck were needed would it be full or mini? Worried about healing from a massive scar. Also curious about "Bodytite" but having a hard time finding reviews and providers on it. But ANYTHING is better than this. All advice is so greatly appretiated thanks for your time!
Answer: How to rid of all of this overhang with my stomach? Judging by your photographs you would be an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck. (abdominoplasty). A tummy tuck requires an incision along the lower abdomen, the scar is typically kept extremely low, just above the pubic hairline and within the bikini line. This procedure removes the excess abdominal skin and tightens the abdominal wall. I encourage you to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss in further detail. Good luck!

Answer: Best option is tummy tuck I love the pink! ;) Given the degree of skin laxity in the photos, the best way to improve the contour is with a tummy tuck, and the best option for the flanks is liposuction. I do think a full tummy tuck is required, but the incision does not need to be much longer than the area where you have the bulge or looseness when standing. In the seated position, the flanks (sides) look full, and give the waist more of a straight or square type of shape. This area could be nicely sculpted with liposuction. Bodytite is not going to give you satisfying results based on these photos. It would be nice if your only goal was mild skin tightening, but it will not give you anywhere near the kind of result that surgery would. With a tummy tuck, not only is excess skin and fat taken away from the lower abdomen, but the muscles are also tightened, which brings in the waist and also allows for a flat ab contour. The other good news is with a tummy tuck, the lower abdominal stretch marks are typically removed. I understand your concern about scarring. While all surgery involves an incision, please know there are lot of options for scar management, some which are proactive in order to prevent noticeable scarring, and others that help treat or erase scars that heal in a less than ideal manner.

Answer: Good Tummy tuck candidate? Hello and thanks for your questions and photos. After reviewing your photos, in my opinion, you would definitely be best served by a full tummy tuck. You have a significant amount of lax skin over your central abdomen, and also appear to have a fairly wide separation/diastasis of the rectus muscles, leading to your rounded lower abdomen, which can only be repaired through a tummy tuck procedure. You would likely get a fantastic result after your body contouring procefure. You will be quite sore for the first week, moderately sore for the next week, and then gradually return to normal over the next 4-6 weeks. I usually allow my patients to begin light, lower body exercise at between 3-4 weeks and they are back to full, completely unrestricted activity/exercise after 12 weeks. I would encourage you to schedule a consultation and discuss your tummy tuck treatment options with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), and also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) demonstrating their commitment to cosmetic surgery, concern for patient safety, and excellence in results. Assure that they have multiple before and after photos of results that you like so that you can have an informed discussion about your body contouring procedures and possible results. Answer: What type of procedure would help with the overhang of skin on the belly HI Jessica, A tummy tuck with repair of your loose muscles along with liposuction of your upper abdomen and hips would be your best choices to give you a more youthful and flat trunk. The incisions are low, but there are scars that are permanent. There are many scar treatments that can lessen the appearance of your scars. It is more important to address the proper form and deal with the scars after the surgery. Again, there are many options to reduce the appearance of scars. Please see a Board certified plastic surgeon in your area to get a full consult and honest discussion of what is involved in these procedures.Best Wishes,Dr. Christine Rodgers
