10 weeks post tummy tuck and going on holiday

Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can travel within 2 to 4 weeks after Tummy Tuck surgery. However, car or airplane travel should be avoided to prevent the risk of blood clots in the legs. I wish you all the best.

Be sure to apply sunscreen liberally (SPF 30+) and reapply every couple of hours or after being in the water.  Even though your incisions will be covered by clothing/bathing suit use sunscreen on them.  The sun's rays can penetrate clothing.  Have fun on your trip!

Thank you for your question.I usually recommend that my patients keep their scars covered for up to 12 weeks to prevent pigmentation from the sun.  High waist bikini bottoms should be enough but it wouldn't hurt to cover your belly button with a Band-aid for added protection.  I would also recommend a visit with your surgeon so they may examine you and advise accordingly.Good luck and have fun!
