Hi, I think my lips are generally pretty full and I'm not looking to add any more volume. However, the corners of my mouth appear to be turned down when my face is relaxed making me appear angry or sad. I also have very thin sides in my top lip, and all the fullness is in the middle where the Cupid's bow lies. Would a Botox lip flip solve the downward facing lip issue? And would it add a little more visability to the sides of my upper lip? Thanks!
Answer: Small amounts of filler may do a better job. Thank you for your question and photos. I understand that you are not interested in adding volume to your lips, but BOTOX® is a muscle relaxant and may not help with your downturned lips. Instead, a small amount of filler could be applied to the corners of the mouth. This would plump up the corners of your lips slightly, which may help pull them up slightly. I recommend consulting with a cosmetic surgeon or experienced aesthetician at a medical spa. Good luck!

Answer: Botox and Fillers for lips Thank you for your question. While Botox may solve your lip issue, it may not be the best choice. Fillers could be the ideal solution, however because you have such naturally full lips, you would need to make sure that the person performing the injection has extensive experience and knows exactly what you want. My best advice would be to schedule an appointment for a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. They can examine you up close and recommend the best course of action to address your concerns. Hope this helps

Answer: Botox and Fillers for lips A muscle at the corners of the lips may be responsible for the downward pull or turn at the edge of the lips. Looking at your pictures it seems that a combination of Botox to these depressor muscles would help, along with fillers to the upper lip. Fillers could be used to turn the edges of the lips outward. Seeing an expert injector is key.

Answer: Treatment for corners of mouth/lateral lips Based on your photos and comments I would recommend filler to your lateral lips rather than Botox to get more pink lip show. Filler can give you more fullness laterally in your lips which will help pull up the corners of your mouth as well. Many fillers may be used however Juvederm works well for this purpose. If you have a very strong pull down of the corners of your mouth when you're asked to "show your lower teeth/grit your teeth" then Botox may be helpful to treat the muscle that pulls your corners down. Please consult a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon experienced in aesthetic injectables. Best wishes.
