Delayed swelling with Juvederm. What are my alternatives to Juvederm products? (Photo)

I had my lips done with juvederm volbella most recently back in January of 2019. I had them done several times before then beginning in 2013. I just had the normal swelling after go last treatment, but since then, every few months I will wake up in the morning and either my top lip, my bottom lip, or both lips are EXTREMELY swollen. The pictures do not do it justice, it looks worse in person. Why is this happening and what should I do? What are my alternatives to juvederm products?

I recommend returning to your injector for an evaluation of your delayed swelling.  There are other fillers available such as Restylane Kysse that may be better for you.

There is a risk with the Juvederm Vycross fillers that delayed onset swelling can occur. I would double check with your injector to evaluate and see if they think this is what is happening. You may want to avoid the Vycross family of fillers and try regular Juvederm Ultra. Hope this helps!

Some of the Juvederm products with Vycross technology can cause delayed swelling.  Check with your doctor to see if this could be the problem.
