I have severe chapped lips that are peeling, flaking and crusty. I have tried every lip balm in the market and nothing seems to work. Can Juvederm lip fillers get rid of peeling lips? Is there any medication that can stop skin from regenerating. I have this this relentless peeling cycle every two days

Answer: I have severe chapped lips that are peeling, flaking and crusty. Can Juvederm help? Thank you for sharing your question. Although Juvederm does absorb water it would not be considered a treatment for chapped lips. You may want to discuss the 2 day cycle with a dermatologist to ensure no other skin related issues are taking place.

Answer: I have severe chapped lips that are peeling, flaking and crusty. Can Juvederm help? Juvederm is a brand of dermal fillers that is typically used for cosmetic purposes to add volume and smooth out wrinkles and fine lines in the face. It is not intended or approved for use on the lips to treat chapped or dry lips.If you have severe chapped lips that are peeling, flaking, and crusty, it's important to address the underlying cause of the issue and consider appropriate treatments. Chapped lips are often caused by factors such as dehydration, exposure to harsh weather conditions, sunburn, or allergic reactions to certain lip products. Here are some steps you can take to help with chapped lips:1.) Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Dehydration can contribute to dry lips.2.) Lip Balm: Use a good-quality lip balm or ointment with moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, beeswax, or hyaluronic acid. Apply it regularly to keep your lips moisturized.3.) Sun Protection: Use lip balms or lip products with SPF to protect your lips from sunburn, which can worsen chapped lips.4.) Avoid Irritants: If you suspect an allergic reaction to lip products, discontinue use and switch to hypoallergenic options.5.) Humidifier: In dry indoor environments, use a humidifier to add moisture to the air, which can help prevent dryness.6.) Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate your lips with a soft toothbrush or a lip scrub to remove dead skin. Be gentle to avoid further irritation.7.) Avoid Licking: Licking your lips can make them even drier. Try to avoid this habit.8.) Consult a Dermatologist: If your chapped lips persist or worsen despite home remedies, consult a dermatologist for a professional evaluation and treatment recommendations. They may recommend specific products or medications tailored to your condition. In summary, Juvederm is not a suitable treatment for chapped lips. It's important to address the underlying causes of chapped lips and take appropriate steps to keep them moisturized and healthy. If your condition persists or is severe, seek guidance from a healthcare professional for the best course of action.

Answer: Does Juvederm help chapped lips Hello and thank you for your question. No Juvederm does not help hydrate lips. Perhaps you’re having an allergic reaction to something? I think I would see a dermatologist and see if you can figure what the cause is. Best wishes. Dr T
