My receding chin keeps getting worse as I get older/gain weight. I've read reviews on chin augmentation, implants, and liposuction of the chin. Each seem to have their advantages and disadvantages, but I'm a poor college student, so at this point I'm looking for the most cost effective route. Any ideas and/or professional opinions would be appreciated.
Answer: Receding Chin and Obtuse Neck You have a combination receding chin and excess fat deposit under the chin which often runs in the family. You would be a great candidate for a sliding osteotomy to advance your chin and submittal lipectomy to remove the excess fat from the different layers of the neck under direct vision (rather than suctioning). This combination is very powerful and would provide you a great deal of improvement for you.

Answer: Candidate for a chin augmentation Without an exam your question cannot be answered. However, your photos are helpful and you are probably a good candidate for a Chin Augmentation. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision:Candidates for Chin Augmentation -Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation.

Answer: Chin implant and lipo Thanks for sharing. Based on what can be seen you would be an excellent candidate for chin implantation and lipo in my opinion. You may also be a candidate for buccal fat reduction to slim the lower cheeks. Recovery can be about 7 days for these procedures. Procedures can be performed comfortably under local anesthesia and oral sedation to reduce your cost. Consult with a few experienced board certified surgeons to review your options.

Answer: Receding chin Hello! You would benefit from a chin implant. Implants are permanent so no matter your weight, you will have the benefit of a better contour. While not inexpensive they are high on satisfaction and provide lots of bang for the buck. I would recommend getting a consultation or two with a facial plastic surgeon, look at some before/afters and morphs and check into financing. Good luck!

Answer: Chin Augmentation There is really no good 'cost-effective' approach to your chin/neck issue. You have to address both components of the problem, meaning you need a combined chin augmentation and neck liposuction. Ideally you need a sliding genioplasty and liposuction of the neck to get the best result.
