Would a chin implant improve my side profile, and help minimize the pads under my lips and protrusion of my lips/mouth?

Thank you for sharing your pictures and story.  Without doubt, the best thing you can do to balance your face would be to opt for a chin augmentation. Your chin is rather deficient, so a larger sized implant would be a reasonable option. The good news is that this procedure can typically be performed under local anesthesia in your PS's office.

Base on your photos chin implant will, most likely, create more balance in your face. I would suggest to delay any other treatment until chin augmentation result is visible and stable (6 months after augmentation). After that, if you are still unhappy with your lips and pads, you may consider lip reduction surgery (well hidden scars inside the lips), and possibly reduction of pads under your lips with liposuciton using very small cannula.You should consult an experienced board certified plastic surgeon in your area for detailed evaluation and discuss your options.

Hi, I have performed many chin implant surgeries over the past 30 years.  From the photos, your chin is very weak and the very front of the cheeks are flat (profile view shows this the best).  These combine to make the face rectangular shaped.Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.  In your case, a dermal filler seems more reasonable as you have the proper cheek volume in the other areas, of the cheek, except the very front portion.  In these scenarios, placing a cheek implant will make the overall cheek appear too large and "puppet" like.  A dermal filler placed by an experienced MD will add the proper shape to the cheeks.A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin.  Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective.Hope this helps.

A chin implant is the best option to improve chin projection and jaw definition. This will also improve proportions in the lower 1/3rd of your face.

Dear Heather, Chin augmentation would help balance your profile and overall facial aesthetics. You may also want to consider having some filler in the cheek area as you have some flatness there that accentuates the fullness in the lower jawline area.
