Question

I love having a chin now, but my smile is no longer pointed/feminine. Is this still from swelling? I'm 3 weeks post op. I got a medium implant sewn in. My profile/face is longer, but the projection is better. Every day I'm constantly having a battle with my new chin. I think plastic surgery is amazing and can make people very happy, I'm just hoping I can fix this to my liking.

Thank your for supplying your pictures. In my opinion, your result is very good.  You are very early in your recovery. As the swelling decreases your contour and lip movement should improve.

Dear Tiffany In general, your smile will go back o its baseline shape after chin implant placement. The size and shape of the implant are very important and that is an area where you should always take time to discuss with your surgeon. Chin implants can be changed and replaced as needed however, risks of complications increase with revision surgery.

I would speak with your surgeon regarding each one of your concerns as he/she knows best what style implant was used, which technique was used for placement, and where you are in the recovery phase. You don't have to fix anything. Just be patient; motion will improve and definition will return as swelling decreases.
