I'm wanting my nostrils less wide but I would also like a more slim refund tip. De I had a consult with said he could do the nostrils but not the tip due to having thick skin. Should I get a second opinion? I really want it done

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hi. Looking at your pic it seems you have thick skin over nose. Undergoing rhinoplasty with this thick skin will not give the best of post operative results. In my opinion you first visit dermatologist and get some solution that will help to reduce the thickness of skin. After that you can undergo rhinoplasty under board certified plastic surgeon to get best results. Hope I have cleared your doubt. Thanks for posting your query.

Answer: Nasal tip definition Marcy- Thanks for your question. I would definitely get a second opinion. While your skin does appear thicker than some based on your photos, it is certainly NOT the thickest skin encountered in rhinoplasty surgery. And while there are definite safety limits that prevent any significant thinning of the skin, there are other ways to achieve improved tip definition even in thinker skinned patients. In cases such as yours, strong cartilage grafting and the addition of nasal structure can counteract some of your skin thickness and help achieve the result you desire. Make sure to consult with a board certified and very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon that can also show you before and after photos of noses like yours. I would be happy to meet with you in consultation.
