i had a great experience. Dr. Smith, and his staff, are very thorough and helpful. He takes the time to talk to me about what I need and makes sure that i am comfortable with everything. I plan to have additional procedures done in the future and will definitely go back to him.
I got a breast augmentation girls!! I am currently 19 years old and have wanted to go through with this procedure since I was 16. Finally the time came and I started doing so much research about the procedure itself and what to expect/ what not to expect. Finally three months later I found my surgeon, Dr. Bruce K Smith. Since the first time I had my consultation with him, he made me feel very safe and comfortable with my decision. I went with more than 10 surgeon for a consultation here in Houston Tx and I can say that not one of them gave me that safe space I was looking for! Updated on 22 Sep 2022: Today I mark my second ay post op! I decided to go with 450 since that was what Dr. Smith had said and recommended. However during the surgery procedure he told me he ended up being able to fit up to 520 without causing any damage to my nerves and skin. My procedure was also done through the armpit which is wayyy better and will heal beautifully. I am so happy with my results I went from a small B cup to a full D cup just how I wanted it. Also I weight 130 and height is 5'4. Will post more updates as the days go by
I had a mini tummy tuck with lipo in February 2022. Dr. Smith and his staff were very caring and took extra time to explain the procedure. They made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions. He was highly recommended by a friend. I am beyond happy with the results!
Dr. Smith and staff are very compassionate, I felt they had my best interest in mind. I was kept at ease from the first consultation to the completion of my mommy makeover. I highly recommend his expertise. You will not be disappointed.
Dr. Smith is an amazing Physician! I had a Mommy Makeover done on 12/08/2000 and the outcome is amazing. He has excellent bedside manners and listens to the concerns you have and has a great anwswer and resulution to what your needs would be. I would go see him for any other work I would need or want in the future. His Office Staff is awesome as well. He is 100%
Dr. Smith performed my tummy tuck over 10 years ago. I’ve put on a little weight, so I went in last October 2020 for some touch up lipo. I’ll tell you that was the highlight of the 2020 year! He made me feel and look great! He’s such a great doc and just an all around awesome guy!
I’m glad Dr Bruce Smith is still in practice. He did an amazing job on my breast augmentation about 20 years ago. They still feel great and look amazing! Never replaced them although I was told they last about 15 years. I wIll be going back to him real soon for check up and other cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Smith did a awesome job with my Breast Reduction. I didn’t know what to expect going in and was super nervous about the outcome. I couldn’t be any happier. At first I was scared because my breast looked weird and disformed shortly after surgery but he assured me not to worry and that everything would come together and look better which it has perfectly. I am most satisfied with the shape, (no boxy look!) , position of my breast, and scarring. Pain was Very minimal. There is one minor issue with the placement and size of my nipples but it’s nothing that I feel I need a revision for. I cant stop buying bras and shirts that I was never able to wear before. So if your looking for a great plastic surgeon Dr. Smith is the guy he is super nice, knowledgeable, and he addressed all my concerns.
Great surgeon. Excellent staff. Really cares about his patients Researched many drs. He was the best. Great follow up. Will be using his office for any other needs I may have. Definitely will recommend him to others
Dr. Smith is amazing. I received ethnic (African American) rhinoplasty with him back in approximately 2012 and the results were phenomenal. He gave me a drastic yet completely natural look. He was so kind and sweet before and after the procedure. He and his staff made me feel completely comfortable! I wasnt able to do meet with him for my last post OP visit because of crazy life situations but my nose healed beautifully and no one ever thinks or knows I had anything done. I'm older, married and my body has of course changed so I'm considering a few "maintenance makeover procedures" lol. If/when I go forward, Dr. Smith will be the one I give a call too
There is always something that can be done to improve scars and sometimes the best treatment is time and patience. All scars go through stages or phases of healing and the first stage is the "inflammatory" stage where scars are thick, pink and slightly raised. The last stage of wound healing is the "remodeling" stage where scars flatten and fade. If you want to try to fade the hyperpigmentation and take away some of the redness of the early inflammatory stage; a series of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) may be of some benefit in combination with bleaching cream. This is exactly the reason that I like a transaxillary ( incision hidden under the arm) approach, if possible. If there is a thick or ropy scar, it is hidden.
Be reassured that there is always something that can be done to improve breast size, shape, and scars. Correction may even require a small implant or fat grafting, which seems crazy because the initial problem was caused by breasts that were too large. There are new procedures that can improve sensation as well. It's OK to seek out a second opinion.
The best recommendation can only be made after a thorough examination in person, and you must realize that there are limits to breast augmentation surgery. The ideal implant for you based on your breast dimensions may not give you the appearance in your fantasy photo. Fantasy photos of the desired result are a great tool to help communicate desires and expectations, but they are only a conversation starter and may NOT be realistic. In regard to how the breast will "feel," you need to clarify a bit if you are concerned about how it feels to you or how it feels to others that you may choose to be intimate. The new cohesive silicone gel implants seem to be satisfying from both perspectives.
In my practice the position of the scar is placed high in the axilla but everyone is different in the position of the natural creases under the arm. In most patients there is a crease at the apex of the axilla and then a second crease that is approximately 1 to 2 cm. below the apex. The incision for transaxillary breast augmentation is usually placed in this second crease. The incision can be made in the apex crease but great care must be taken to avoid the axillary vein and artery and there are nerve branches from the brachial plexus that travel in this area. Injury to these structures can be avoided by using the slightly lower crease. The placement of the scar is still very high and so it is hidden by its position and the fact that is is placed in a natural crease.
I am so sorry that your breasts are causing you pain and anxiety. The good news is that you have very nice volume as most patients with tuberous breast deformity require an implant to restore volume in the constricted breasts. The areolas have stretched to quite a large size and I would recommend a two stage procedure where initially a pursestring suture is placed to pre-stretch the skin and remove tension around the areola when the second stage is performed to reduce the size of the areola. The initial stage could be performed in the office under local anesthesia and then we would wait for at least 4 to 6 weeks before completing your surgery. The second stage would reduce the size of the areola, raise its position and reshape the breasts so that they are not quite so tuberous.
