You don't appear to have a bottoming out issue. However, given the size of your implants and their position on the chest wall, your breasts will likely have a tendency to sag over time. Wearing a very supportive bra, and even wearing a bra at night, may help slow this process.
Dear dayleeg,Bottoming out occurs when the implant falls below the current breast crease or inframammary line. It's more likely to happen with inframammary incisions, which is why I try not to use the inframammary approach to any breast surgery.Bottoming out can also occur if an implant is too large for the breast pocket. That is why it is important to choose an implant size that's correct for your body. I perform numerous measurements in the office to determine optimal implant size for my patient's bodies. If you are concerned, please check it with your plastic surgeon for reassurance and to further discuss your options and possibility of revision.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
dayleeg. I appreciate your concern, but your photographs do not demonstrate signs of bottoming out, which occurs when the implants drop too low. It can take as long as six months to achieve your final results after this operation, so try to stay patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Thank you for your question and photographs. Bottoming out is where the implants falls below the infra-mammary fold and your photograph does not indicate this condition. My strong advice is to wait a full 6 months before considering the final result of your procedure and to follow-up with your plastic surgeon to discuss your particular circumstances. Good luck.
Hello and thank you for your question and photo's. It is difficult to know without before pictures , however, I don't think you are bottoming out. Your breasts appear to sit lower on your chest wall with large implants and farther a part from each other, which was probably the same before surgery.
Dear dayleeg, thank you for your question. Your photos do not indicate excessvie "bottoming-out" of the implants. It would be helpful to have yor pre-op photos and to know whether the implants were place under the breast or under the muscle. The position of the breasts on the chest wall alos looks normal for the larger size of implants you chose. I wouldn't make any final judgements about htings until you are at least 9-12 months post-op. Hope this helps & good luckJames Sheridan, MD
Dear Dayleeg,Thanks for the question and photos. You are definitely NOT bottoming out. You have larger implants on a thin frame and you do have some skin stretching. The position of the implants depends on both the pocket dissection (during the surgery) and the chest wall (rib) anatomy. This determines whether you end up having more lateral hanging breasts. You are also still in the infancy of the healing phase and you should wait at least 6 months post op before evaluating your results.Enjoy your summer..Dr T
It does not appear you are bottoming out. The implants are still above the level of your inframammary breast crease (the fold under your breast). They are just settling into position. As others have stated it can take 6 mo for the final result after breast augmentation so continue to watch closely but be patient. Good luck.
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and...
Hello and thank you for your question! We occasionally see patients with connective tissue disorders, such as Ehlers Danlos, in our practice. Breast augmentation can be safely performed in these patients, provided that adequate precautions are taken to reduce the amount of tension on the sk...
This RealSelf video is a response to our petite, five foot one, 110 pound gal, who just never had breast development, no projection, no volume, to match her figure. And when that happens, by far the most popular and common restoration of projection, volume and balance, is breast augmentation. ...
