Is it safe to have dental work post breast augmentation?

We always try to
avoid any dental work 1 month before or after breast augmentation as a
precaution to avoid any chance of infection while the patient is preparing for
surgery or during the healing stages of recovery.
Of course, there
are circumstances out of our control so please ensure that both your surgeon
and your dentist are aware of what you are experiencing in order to provide you
with the best care possible. Antibiotics may need to be prescribed to prevent
infection and keep the implant safe during this very vulnerable recovery
period. Your care providers will take all steps to keep you healthy. All the best with your recovery!

Hi Thank you for your questionIt is preferable to not have dental work for 6 weeks post operatively to allow the body to heal, and not place additional stress on the body. Unless it is absolutely necessary, it would be wise to advise your dentist you have had surgery recently.All the best

Hello and thank you for your question.  Yes, it is safe to have dental work performed after a breast augmentation.  However, I typically recommend that patients take a prophylactic antibiotic 30 minutes before any extensive dental work.
