I frequently fill out FMLA paperwork for patients undergoing tummy tuck, and this absolutely can be filled out before your surgery. The amount of time you need off depends on what kind of work you do, and what type of activity restrictions your surgeon recommends postoperatively. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your question.We consistently fill out FMLA paperwork for your patients, however, due to the nature of some of the questions on the forms, they must be filled out after surgery. We try to fill out the forms to the patient's specifications as far as the amount of time needed off, as long as it is reasonable.Be well.

Thank you for your question.  FMLA paperwork is commonly filled out by surgeons to help patients after surgery, however, specific questions must be answered honestly such as the diagnosis and nature of the surgery.  Many times FMLA is denied when the surgery is done for cosmetic reasons only. If a hernia is repaired at the same time, it is easier to get it covered. Be sure to see an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon.
