4 weeks po tummy tuck. Everything was smoothe, looked great, flat. Now 4 weeks after, I literally look 6 months pregnant. It hurts a lot..stomach is very hard. My skin feels like it can't be stretched out anymore. I cant breathe. My right lower abdomen is more bloated and puffy than the rest. What is going on?? What can I do? I still can't sleep on my side either. My ribs kill me. I've tried pillows etc. Please help! I can't take the pressure feeling in my stomach.

Answer: Sudden swellin after tummy tuck Hi, there.A sudden change on your appearance of abdomen may indicate swelling, seroma formation, or bulging from the intra-abdominal content. Keep a binder/compression and follow up with your plastic surgeon.Good luck.

Answer: Recovery Hello. Are you still wearing compression? With an abdominoplasty, you will have swelling for many months after surgery. Wearing compression can help the discomfort and helps to decrease swelling. Based on your photos and your description, you could have developed a seroma pocket, which is trapped fluid. Contact your plastic surgeon and let them know what you are experiencing. They may need to aspirate the fluid for you. This would decrease the size and pressure in your abdomen. If it isn't a seroma pocket, try to continue wearing compression to your abdomen to support your swelling. Happy healing!
