Hello, Ive had my miradry treatment 6 days ago and the reduction of sweat in my armpits didn't reduce as much as I wanted it to. Is it reasonable to do another treatment in 4 weeks from now (my doctor already gave me an appointment) or are there any health risks or the like? Thanks in advance for your answers.
Answer: How long until you can have a second MiraDry procedure? Thank you for your question, although most patients report instant results, it can take as long as 3 months to achieve your final result so be patient. MiraDry® specialist meets with each patient prior to the treatment to go over the procedure and answer any questions. Next, lidocaine injections are administered to numb the underarm area prior to treatment. There will be little to no pain while our technician performs the procedure. In a study performed by miraDry®, patients rated pain a 2 out of 10 (1 being no pain, 10 being worst pain). The underarms are then marked with what looks like a temporary tattoo in the form of a grid. The treatment takes about one hour. Most of our patients will see results in as little as one treatment, however, as with any medical treatment, this will vary from patient to patient. After the miraDry® treatment at our BioSpa in Newport Beach, the underarm sweat and odor glands will be eliminated. While the body does need sweat glands to cool itself, there are anywhere from 2-4 million sweat glands in total with only about 2% in the underarms. Eliminating this small percentage of sweat glands does not affect the body’s ability to cool itself. Over 30,000 miraDry sweat and odor treatments have been safely performed.

Answer: Repeating a Miradry procedure You should wait 3 months to repeat a Miradry procedure. Results are usually 82% reduction of sweat but doing a second treatment may increase that percentage a little. Most patients are satisfied wt that 82% reduction.

Answer: MiraDry and Hyperhidrosis I would recommend waiting 3 months before retreating to allow ample time to heal. Sweat gland depth may vary in a subset of patients which can result in suboptimal results with MiraDry. They may want to do a starch-iodine test in this case to see if you had any improvement at all and if you are sweating outside of the zone treated with the MiraDry template. Best of luck!

Answer: Expectations.... Hello Eli.Miradry at level 5 knocks out about 75 to 82% of the sweat glands. If you expect to be drier than that, you should know there's no procedure available anywhere that can do that. Having another Miradry at 12 weeks is more appropriate to left your skin and other tissues heal. Please follow up with your doctor at 4 weeks and discuss your concerns. I personally have had this procedure done and it works very well!Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)
