Can you still experience a reduction in odor weeks after getting Miradry done?

Question

Miradry done on April 26th 2017. I noticed slight BO odor under only one arm the day after and now second day since treatment. Will the odor continue to dissipate or does me smelling something so soon mean I will most likely need a second treatment? Mine was done on the highest setting of 5. I had a very bad problem odor wise so being a young woman this seemed like the answer to my prayers. I know it's only been a few days but wanted some opinions on it.

The majority of our MiraDry patients have a significant decreased in not only sweat but odor immediately following the first treatment. Usually about one month post treatment, a portion of the sweating and odor may return.  This result varies from patient to patient.  However, the sweating and odor has never returned to the pre-treatment state.  Most of our patients are very happy with the first treatment and do not return for a second treatment. However, if the do return, we offer the second treatment at a discounted price.

Miradry results are instant, over a 3 month period post treatment slight odor and sweat glands may repair themselves.  At that time a second treatment may be done. It often varies from person to person if they will just need one treatment, or two.

That is great that the odor from one arm has improved such that you only notice it from one arm.  I would give it a little more time to assess whether the body odor will persist.  I think 1-2 weeks is reasonable.  If still present, you may need a second treatment to help eradicate what wasn't destroyed the first round.

Congratulations and thanks for these questions. MiraDry is very effective and eradicates 75 to 82% of the glands which lead to sweat and odor in the underarm in one treatment. I believe you will continue to notice some improvement, but not all of the glands are gone. Importantly, most patients have a significant clinical improvement where only one treatment is required for an effective result. However, to improve on your results you should be re-evaluated 12 weeks after with an iodine-starch test, discuss you satisfaction level and consider your options.

You may notice an improvement in odor for a couple of months after miraDry.  Any odor/sweating should be stabilized and any swelling or nodularity should completely be resolved before considering a second treatment.  Please consult with your physician provider.

Hi and thanks for your question, Its not unusual to notice some of the odor or sweating returning after your first treatment. Some may return and you can evaluate this during the 3 months you must wait before considering a 2nd treatment. We find some people do need that 2nd treatment to really target the odor issues.
