I 75lb and maintained for years. Went through, and survived some trauma. I never thought I'd be in a place to afford this, but now I have the chance. It's 1 shot. I want to get arm lift, breast lift/augmentation and 360lipo/tummy tuck. Is this too much at one time? I don't want to jeopardize any healing/results. Thanks!!
Answer: Mulitple procedures Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. I frequently combine multiple procedures into one surgical setting. Safety must always be the number one priority. In my practice, I would recommend separating these into two separate surgical settings, separated by three months. This will help to optimize your results and safety. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Can I safely get arm lift, breast lift/augmentation and 360lipo/tummy tuck at one time? You would need to be examined and your medical records reviewed by a board certified plastic surgeon to determine your candidacy for having all procedures completed during one surgery lasting no more than 6 hours. Select a board certified plastic surgeon who is an expert in all three procedures Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Combination procedures can be safe if the operator is experienced and an expert in all the procedures The answer is a qualified yes. I would caution you about "1 shot" because even if you do a combined procedure there is chance that you will want to return for a revision or touchup. Your plastic surgeon needs to be experienced and proficient in doing these procedures individually. Not all plastic surgeons are. Blood loss is a factor. Combined surgery is great, but not if the recovery is too painful or if you are anemic after surgery. It is generally best to avoid operations that are likely to take much longer than 6 hours. You can read more at my website if you are interested.

Answer: Combining procedures Congratulations on your weight loss! If you are wanting the best results, you will want to consider breaking these procedures into two stages. Most surgeons prefer to limit the surgical time to 6 hours or less, and the procedures you are considering will exceed that time. I recommend visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for a consultation.

Answer: Can I safely get arm lift, breast lift/augmentation and 360lipo/tummy tuck at one time? Thank you for the question. Generally speaking, combination surgical procedures are done routinely. However, you are wise in being concerned about the safety of combination surgery; risks/possible complications do increase with increased length of surgery… In my opinion, the combination procedures you are considering would be too much to perform in a single session. It is best to evaluate each patient's suitability for combination surgery on an individualized basis. During this consultation process, after a complete history and physical, the SAFETY of combining these surgical procedures becomes of paramount importance. Plastic surgeon, anesthesia provider, duration of surgery, surgery facility all important considerations. Your best bet: choose your plastic surgeon very carefully; everything else including good judgment/advice/planning, anesthesia provider and safe surgery facility will follow. Always keep priorities (safety, avoidance of complications, and quality of outcome) in mind as you make your decisions. Best wishes.
