Excess skin below belly button - am I a candidate for a mini tummy tuck? (Photos)

I have excess skin below my belly button which is my main concern. I also previously had liposuction 2 years ago which left me with bumpy skin above my belly button.. what can I do to fix that? I want something less invasive than a full tummy tuck and am looking into having a mini. Is there anything non-surgical I can do about the bumpy skin above my belly button and the excess skin? Or is a mini tummy tuck the only option for the excess skin? Thank you

Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, it looks like you would be a great candidate for an abdominoplasty to get rid of any excess skin. The only difference in a mini vs a full abdominoplasty is how long the incision is. A mini tummy tuck is going to have a smaller incision than a full tummy tuck. Muscle repair, removal of excess skin, and liposuction are all included with both a mini and a full tummy tuck. Thank you for your question and photos! From your photos, it looks as though you are an excellent tummy tuck candidate. If you were to only get a mini tummy tuck, I do not believe that you would be happy. A full tummy tuck will bring back your muscles for a flat and tighter appearance. Without doing that, you will be left with a protuberant abdomen. I recommend that you schedule an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

With the photos you have taken, I would recommend a full tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty. With the excess skin you have, I do not believe a mini tummy tuck would accomplish your goals and leave you with a good aesthetic. You have muscle separation and skin laxity at and above the belly button. A mini tuck will leave you dissatisfied and possible upset. You need a full abdominoplasty. If you think that means a significantly different scar you are wrong. Go get a few consultations.

There may be not much benefit to doing a mini tummy tuck as opposed to a full tummy tuck.  The full tummy tuck will address the upper abdominal wall where you have some liposuction irregularities.  The scar may be slightly longer but not appreciably.  Plus the full tummy tuck you get the muscle plicated for a flatter profile.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. From your photos it appears your best option is a standard tummy tuck.  I think you will be disappointed with a mini as it will not fully address your abdomen.  The standard tummy tuck will removed excess skin and fat, correct the area above your belly button, and repair abdominal wall laxity.  The result will be a flatter, tighter appearing tummy.
