Given that Isoretinoins can increase the risk of scar formation, the conventional wisdom is to avoid any laser treatments, waxing, dermabrasion for 6 months after stopping the medication. There have been several small studies that were done retrospectively(looking backwards at patient outcomes) that did not show any increased scar formation.....so the verdict in this case: if it were me(and you should always ask your provider this) "Would you have LHR while taking isoretinoin?" I would not.
Thank you for the question as these two procedures are often done together. Your provider is doing things right in that he/she is doing the Genesis first followed by the filler. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks after a filler is injected before having a Genesis treatment so I feel that having 3 weeks between the two procedures is fine.
Thank you for the question and sharing your experience. First, your results are not typical or expected but as we know strange things can and do happen. There are a lot of questions that come up from your pictures and I think it would be important to know if you had any other aesthetic treatments in the months prior to and after your Laser Genesis. Knowing more details of your specific Genesis treatment would be helpful as well. Given your position, it's going to be important for you to followup with an experienced provider for an in-person consultation.
Thanks for the question. We do a lot of Laser Genesis in combination with fillers. It's important to have the Genesis treatment done first though as the there is some heat production from the Genesis treatment and you don't want this to affect the filler. See an experienced provider.
Hi and thanks for the question. Melasma can be managed and definitely helped with the right treatment plan. Usually there are several different things that we do to help patients with melasma and not one by itself generally gives you the result that you're looking for. For best results I recommend seeing a qualified provider that has experience in this area.
