Can necrosis occur in other areas away from the injection site? (Photos)

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Necrosis can occur in areas away from the site of injection as a result of arterial blockage but fortunately your discoloration does not appear to be necrosis.  I would follow up with your injector as this is most likely a reaction to your injection preparation.  Hope this helps.

Thank you for your question and photos.  I recommend following up with your injector.  It does not appear to be necrosis. .  It may be irritation from the topical cleansing that was used.  It'd be worth a call to your injector so he/she can track your progress.   Best of luck! 

Hi and thanks for your question.  From looking at your pictures, it appears to be bruising. However, I would also agree in saying that you should return to the clinic where you received your treatment.

Thank you for your question. From the picture it does not appear to be necrosis although no one can truly diagnose from a picture. I do recommend making an appt to be seen by your provider as this will allow them to follow the full course of this inflammation, whatever it is. In answer to your question, yes necrosis can occur away from the initial injection site, but a lack of blanching or pain is a good sign. I hope this helped and best of luck to you.

It occurs due to the artery or blood supply involved being blocked. The photos provided do not appear to be frank necrosis, but you should follow up with your injector to review your concerns.

Although I don't think this appears to be a necrosis, I would return to your injector for a follow up for your injector to assess it. Good luck!
