I had my prejowl sulcus overfilled with Voluma (thickest fillers and hard to dissipate with hyaluronidase). My face looks too round now and I want to get rid of it. (I had Sculpra applied an year before but with a conservative doctor so that was fine.) I'm wondering if Voluma can build up collagen and thus even after years my appearance doesn't go back to where I started?
Answer: Does Voluma dissipates totally in two years or can it build enough collagen in its place that would make a visible change? Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your recent treatment was not what you anticipated. Voluma does not build collagen like Sculptra does, instead on the amount of material injected to give results. If you do not like your results, and it has been 2-4 weeks after treatment have your injector dissolve some of the product. Hope this helps.

Answer: Voluma Longevity Hi and thank you for your question. This product has been proven to last up to two years, however this is based on an average. Some patients may notice it does not last two years, whereas others may find it lasts longer. Having dermal fillers can stimulate some new collagen and elastin production, but not to the same degree that would give you the same result the HA filler can achieve. If you are very unhappy with your result, you could get the product dissolved. However, we do recommend avoiding this as the product also compromises your body's own Hyaluronic Acid. Wishing you all the best, Stay absolutely safe and well, Dr. Murray from Absolute Cosmetic Medicine

Answer: Too much Voluma can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase Hello and thank you for your question. Voluma can be dissolved with hyaluronidase successfully. I suggest seeing your injector and let them know that you were not happy with your results. It is true that Voluma and other dermal fillers can boost your own natural collagen, however it is unlikely that once the product dissipates on its own that it will be enough to replace the amount of product used. This is especially true if it is your first time having the filler injected in that area. Hope this helps!

Answer: Pre-jowl Voluma Thank you for your question. Although no filler has been studied as to whether it stimulates collagen to the extent that Sculptra has, anecdotally most injectors that I know believe all the fillers have at least a little collagen stimulation. It is unlikely the amount produced would be enough of a correction for you. And unlike Sculptra all of the HA fillers are reversible. I'm not sure where you got the impression that Voluma is not reversible, that is not what I have seen or heard in my practice. I would speak to your injector, if they are not comfortable with Hyaluronidase, then search out a provider that is. I hope that helps

Answer: Voluma in the pre jowl area Hi, and thanks for the question. It would be extremely unusual for Voluma to cause a build up of collagen. Likewise, I have not experienced, nor have I heard of, Voluma being unresponsive to hyaluronidase. On the other hand, Sculptra certainly causes a buildup of new collagen, and usually does so in a satisfactory manner. However, unfortunately, the results from Sculptra cannot be dissolved/reversed. A highly experienced facial aesthetic surgeon may have other solutions for you, but it would require an office consultation and evaluation. Best of luck
