i had a breast reduction covered through insurance. I am happy with my results and they're objectively much better looking however i went from a 32g/h to a 34c, i'd like them a bit bigger now and to increase upper pole fullness because from a side view they're pretty flat. I'm considering implants, my biggest thought against it is the fact that they need to be changed every 10ish years apparently. i feel like that is very excessive and not talked about enough. It'd be so expensive long term.
Answer: Shape preservation device Dear Madisonvvvl, You have a very nice result but many women decide they want to maintain some shape in the upper pole (above the nipple) of the breast. The most common way to achieve that is with implants. Saline implants don't have to be changed unless you have a problem with them. The lowest profile implant would provide shape without adding excessive size back to your breast.

Answer: Implants The 10 year old implant exchange is based on very old data on the previous implant generations. I do not recommend changing implants unless there a reason to. I would recommend implants and another lift to help achieve further symmetry.

Answer: The big picture Not the best photos to see shape, but breast implants following breast reduction is certainly something I have done many times. Life happens, and sometimes implants can help. The newer breast implants do not have to be exchanged every 10 years. In fact, they never have to be changed unless there is a problem such as infection, leak, capsular contraction, or if you simply do not want them anymore. It is sometimes necessary to do a small lift to tighten the skin at the same time, but I cannot tell with the photos you sent. Hope this helps.

Answer: Breast implants after breast reduction Breast implants can shape the breast very nicely after breast reduction. Implants are not lifelong devices, so you may need more surgery in the future, however it would be very unlikely that you would require surgery every 10 years. I advise you not to go with too large an implant, as your skin carried heavy breasts before, and so are more likely to stretch out with a heavier implant. As well, I advise waiting at least a year before having implant surgery after breast reduction.

Answer: Implants Implants do not "have to be changed every 10 years" but I do recommend a mammogram or ultrasound every 3 years during the first 10 years, then every other year for the next 10 years, and then yearly. At some point, one of both may need to be exchanged. Placing the implants behind the muscle can give you more upper breast fullness and breast volume.

Answer: Implants Thanks for your question! I do think that a lower profile implant could get you some upper pole fullness without making you too large. Another option might be fat grafting, but you would want to find someone that specializes in that. Good luck!
