Is Breast Fat Transfer Suitable For Asymmetry?

Hi. I think fat grafting would help your breast symmetry by getting closer to an equal volume. But it will not be able to create symmetry of the differences in the dimensions of both breasts. There are other more invasive options, but you may decide that it isn’t worth it for all of that. Your breasts are asymmetrical in volume, shape and position. You would benefit from a breast lift. The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. At the same time, fat transfers can be performed on the smaller breast to match the larger one.

You can try but it’s very hard to predict or control how much fat is retained . The other option is to reduce the other breast with liposuction.

Since each technique has its own indications and requirements, lipotransfer cannot replace augmentation mammoplasty with prostheses. As this technique provides symmetry and improves the body contour, it does not increase more than one size. You can achieve a more similar look and the dent may be able to be filled with fat. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing your options.

If you are looking for alternative to breast implant. Fat transfer is the best option for you. Fat can be transferred to smaller breast to match other breast. The only this is that, fat are unpredictable. The absorption of fat varies from patient to patient and also among 2 sides of the breast. So, your problem can be corrected but in some cases you might need next session of fat transfer.

Your breast anatomy is quite different. The medial cleavage will not be symmetrical with fat transfer. The size difference may be reduced, but not symmetrical. You might consider a lift with a small reduction on the right, or fat transfer to the left.

Breast fat transfer is good for increasing the breast size by one half to one cup. It does however not change the shape of the breast significantly. Both breasts have fairly similar shapes and collecting for asymmetry with fat transfer it’s probably your best option.

Fat transfer primarily adds volume so adding volume to your left breast to try to correct the indentation or deformity would worsen the asymmetry to some degree.

Overall fat transfer to your right breast and correcting the defect with a moderate amount of fat seems like your best option.

Using traditional techniques would require different size implants and a lift on both breast. That option would give aesthetically better looking breast. If you want to maintain your current look with a more natural approach than fat transfer is the way to go.

Grafting fat may increase the diameter but probably not enough to give full symmetry. occasionally getting ideal results requires more than one session a fat transfer.
