My nasal bridge, bone, and bottom are too wide. My nose is also too long and there is no symmetry. What can be done?
Answer: Want a nose job but my nose basically has no shape, what are my options? Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an in person examination (not just an online consultation) and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique. Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do and how technically to do it based on two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Rhinoplasty for nasal shape... From your photos, it looks like you a great candidate for rhinoplasty. A well performed rhinoplasty can reduce the overall size of your nose some and give a better defined tip. It all starts with a consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon where you can undergo computer imaging to give you a better idea of what you make like...

Answer: Rhinoplasty for improved nose shape I would recommend starting with a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty surgery to discuss if rhinoplasty can address your concerns. I would recommend writing down the following questions before scheduling your consultation: 1. Are you unhappy with the tip of your nose? 2. Do you feel that your nose is too wide? 3. Do you want to make your nostrils smaller in appearance? 4. Are you looking to decrease the general size of your nose? I hope some of these questions will help you pinpoint what it is that you don't like about your nose. Cost will vary due to various factors like anesthesia fees, facilities fees, etc. I wish you the best as you research your options when scheduling a rhinoplasty consultation. Sincerely, Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Closed Scarless Nose Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question and pictures. Taking everything into account I think that you have a beautiful nose that only needs refinement of your tip along with one of the most used popular surgical techniques for Alar base reduction, which is the Weirs technique (It's when you make internal cuts and tuck in your nostrils). A closed rhinoplasty procedure is the best option for someone who is looking for a refinement of the nose. I recommend going to a Plastic Surgeon that specializes in closed scarless rhinoplasty (preferred by actresses and celebrities) because there is no risk of external scarring and much less healing and recovery time. Closed rhinoplasty enables you to have flash recovery with very minimal bruising if at all. You will only have to wear a cast for 5-7 days, no one will know you had anything done. All the incisions are made from inside the nose. The goal is to finesse and enhance the nose without drastic change. It still looks like it is your nose just more refined without looking fake. Meaningful refinement is the key! All the same surgical maneuvers your nose requires can be performed with a skilled closed scarless surgeon. Best of luck, Deepak Dugar MD ScarlessNose Institute of Beverly Hills
