Hi I am getting a bbl and tummy tuck in DR. My question is even though I weigh 165 I still don't have a lot of fat, would it be better if I went up to 175 or 180 to make sure I get good enough for my butt and hips. And if you agree what would be the foods to eat to gain more? Thank you.
Answer: Planning on getting a BBL. Should I gain weight up to 175 or 180 lbs to get enough for my butt and hips? Hi. It’s hard to answer without photos. I still I really like this question though, and the answer really depends on what you are looking for. If you want a huge butt then you might need to gain some fat and then hope it goes to areas that can actually be lipoed. If you don’t want huge results, you probably have enough fat as it is and there is no need to gain weight. Sometimes we can achieve great results with smaller patients! The best weight for a BBL is a stable weight. Understand that BBL results can vary with weight gain or weight loss after surgery as well. So if you gain weight before the procedure, make sure to keep the weight after, in order to keep the results. Moreover, if you eventually feel you need a bigger butt, you can actually try to gain a little weight after surgery. Most of it will probably go to your butt. This is becase after liposuction, the body gains weight differently and it will gain weight easier on places that have not been lipoed and especially in places where fat was grafted. Best of luck, Dr. Miguel Mota

Surprisingly many people believe they should but actually its better to stay the weight that you are prior to surgery for a BBL. Your risks factors go up with a higher BMI. Whether or not you have a healthy weight is determined by your BMI which is Body Mass Index. The biggest way to aid to your BBL. is have a very healthy diet, boosting your immune system, plenty of hydration up until fasting for surgery and making sure to have sleep pattern before surgery.
