I recommend you to talked to your Plastic surgeon; each doctor have their own safety protocols. Usually is not recommend to travel certainly days before and after the procedure to check your recovery process and mainly to lower the risk of embolism. Hope this help
Your surgeon is the best person to give you this recommendation. I would encourage you to contact their office. Personally, my patients have to stay in town between 7-10 days after their BBL. The longer they stay, the better. You want to make sure your body is healing, and that any post-op care needed is done correctly. Your body is healing from surgery, and flying that early could potentially delay the healing process.
Thanks for your question. At my practice, I require my patients to stay 7 days post-op before flying home. I suggest you discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Hope this helps. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Dr. Moises Salama, board certified plastic surgeon.
Hi! Each surgeon has their own post-op instructions and you should follow your surgeons recommendations. But in my experience, it is not safe to travel back home so soon after this procedure. I ask my patients to stay in town for at least 5 days post-op. That way I can examine your skin, healing, you're more recovered for the flight back home and the risk of developing blood clots (deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary embolism) is lower. Hope this helps!
Hello Dear @be3zw0rld thank you for your question. It is always important to take into consideration the opinion of the specialist who is performing surgery. It depends a lot on the surgical technique and the technology used in this procedure. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.
Dear be3zw0rld,I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Well the answer for your question is somehow subjective, depending on the doctor and the amunt of fat absorbed and injected. However when we think that today usually no less than 600 cc per butt is given, there are possible risks. In this time you should be at the vicinity of your doctor to be safe. Flight is another risking factor. My instruction is if the operation day is day zero, I can send my patient home on day 5. If the way is longer (like 10 hours flight) then I have some other instructions and keep my patient for some more time.
No posted photos??? July 9th is a Saturday, so when is postop? If drain in place when removed? Why the rush to leave? Recovery immediate postop phase is 5-7 days! Sounds like you are going to a clinic chop shop???? BTW if in Florida ALL BBL surgeries of any type MUST =have ultrasound guided injections of fat, a required rue in Florida. Do you know if the clinic you are using even owns this machine or knows how to use it?? Best you rethink your decisions. Good Luck.
BBL is a surgical procedure that takes 2-3 hours. However, since aggressive liposuction is performed, it is considered to be the riskiest surgical procedure due to the risks associated with liposuction and fat embolism. According to my experience, it would be beneficial to wait at least a week. If a trip is to be made, it should be done by taking antiembolic precautions.
I suggest you check with your surgeon to see what their postoperative protocols and recommendations are.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Hello @MzzNursey thank you for your question. It is absolutely essential that you obtain clearance from your hematologist prior to having a bbl. This will help to ensure that you experience the best possible results with the least amount of risk. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS
No posted photos? so very hard to determine the extent of the deformity in your buttock. Best to virtual consult with.... Lipo with fat grafting and internal release of the interior scarring would most likely be the operative options. In Florida any fat grafting to the buttock even if one side...
Hi, nmillsap, thank you for your question and photos. Youn incision looks to be fistulized. Normally we expect the incision to close from 48 hours. If it stays open too much (may be because of consistent leaking after operation ar keeping a drain much longer than should be) it gets epithelized...
