i got a bbl 4 years ago and the incision right above my buttcrack keeps opening up about once a month and starts bleeding. i have taken pictures and noticed a piece of gelatin gummy like tissue that is attached to my body where the blood seems to be coming out of. what is going on and what can i do or need to do to keep this from happening? thank you
Answer: Incision keeps opening Dear nmillsap, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Looks like a fistula. Hi, nmillsap, thank you for your question and photos. Youn incision looks to be fistulized. Normally we expect the incision to close from 48 hours. If it stays open too much (may be because of consistent leaking after operation ar keeping a drain much longer than should be) it gets epithelized and needs a revision for the incision. An x-ray with contrast will be helpful to understand to what level the fistula goes. It is necessary to excise the fistula as deep as possible.

Answer: Recurrent wound opening Based on your description and the pictures it looks like you may have a pyogenic granuloma. Its not serious or life threatening. Its highly vascular tissue that develops after an insult or injury to the skin/tissues. It can be easily treated with some cauterization or a small excision. You should probably go back to your surgeon and have them take a look - its a quick fix for such a troublesome matter

Answer: 4 years post-op - Incision from procedure keeps opening, what can I do to keep this from happening? Great posted photos. First question to you is, did you ever have illegal injections to your buttock? The gelatin droplets appear to be silicone or bio polymer. Where was the BBL done in USA or out of country? You need to see a boarded Plastic Surgeon in person for detailed examination. Then most likely, at least I would, recommend wide excision with a layered closure surgery revision. My fee $3,500. Best to try virtual consult with....

Answer: Scar revision Dear. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. For my opinion, you can have a dermoid cyst there. So you need debridement and scar revision there.
