Hello! My smile lines have been treated once with restylane but results went away after two weeks and I've given up hope on them. However, my tear troughs are impossible to cover with makeup. I'm not worried about the darkness, I'm worried about the hollow line. So I'm wondering how much restylane is necessary to smooth out that line so my concealer doesn't look like it's sitting on a cuff? If there are any recommended Baltimore doctors that can fix this problem please reply. Thanks!
Answer: Restylane For Under Eye Hollows using Microcannula Thank you for sharing your question about Restylane. Based on the photo you have provided, you appear to be an excellent candidate for tear trough fillers. You will likely only need 1 syringe of Restylane to start, but may need to add more if you do not see enough correction. I have found that Restylane under the eyes last about 1 year, however a touch up may be necessary at 6 months in order to maintain results. In my practice, I prefer to inject tear trough fillers using the microcannula technique, which essentially eliminates bruising risk and minimizes swelling. I also prefer to use Restylane in this area because it doesn’t attract as much water as other fillers, such as Juvederm. I recommend scheduling an in-person evaluation with a board-certified specialist who is experienced with tear trough fillers using the microcannula technique. Best of luck with your treatment!

Answer: Restylane It appears that your cheek tissue is sitting a little lower and that exposes your eyelid more and makes your tear trough more noticeable. I would lift your cheek area and your tear trough.

Answer: Tear Trough Correction Typically, I use one syringe of filler (Belotero, Restylane) for correction of the "average" tear trough which is what your photos display. You are correct, the pigmentation will not be improved, but typically patients see less of the "dark circles" once the troughs are filled because shadowing is reduced. I perform all tear trough injections with the microcannula technique. I feel this technique markedly reduces patient discomfort, bruising or swelling. Good Luck!

Answer: Tear Trough Filler From your photos it looks like between one half a one full syringe of filler, such as Restylane or Belotero, would be enough to fill the area and reduce the shadows. You are correct that the skin pigmentation will remain. makeup can cover the color, but not the shadows of a depression. Topical anesthesia helps make this comfortable.
