Hi, I got the restylane 0.5ml, 3 days ago and the first day my lips swelled and I was worried, plus it was uneven, next day less swollen. third day I may be a little swollen and once the swelling is gone I will be back to where I started. I said I wanted a natural look but fuller lips. Most was put in the upper lip, a small amount in the bottom. Can my bottom lip be made a smooth line on the bottom vs the curve (natural shape). I wanted fuller in the center of my upper lip is this attainable?

Sometimes the optimal results with lip filler can be achieved over a few treatment visits with small amounts injected.  I would wait a week or so after your first injections to let the swelling come down and then return to discuss your goals and have more Restylane injected.

Many patients require more than one injection of filler to get the desired results with the lips. I suggest you wait a little, see your injector at 2 weeks, and review your before and after photos with your injector. Once your goals are re-asserted, then you can consider more Restylane.

This is certainly attainable and you will get there. While inconvenient to keep going back to your doctor, I will say that sometimes it's best to treat little by little so as not to overdo it and this way you will achieve the most natural look possible. It is a careful balance because the lips swell so quickly during injections, it is often better to under treat and add more later as opposed to over treat. I would advise going back to your injector in a week and explaining your concerns and I'm sure they will be happy to work with you until you achieve the look you desire.

I usually have patients wait about 2 weeks before having them undergo more filler. This will allow for swelling to subside.

as soon as the initial swelling is gone you can have more injected and can achieve what you want with both upper and lower lips but be sure you are seeing a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon
