I am currently 18 days post op and am a little concerned that my breasts are too close together. I am happy with my results so far and my breasts were quite close together prior - I can only just stick my pinky finger between them. Should I be worried now or about developing symmastia in the near future?
Answer: Do I Have Symmastia? Thanks for your question. By definition, you do not have symmastia where the breast implants "kiss" each other in the midline of the chest to form the "figure-of-eight' or "bread loaf" sign. If your breasts were close together before the breast augmentation, then they will also be close together after the operation. You are also still quite swollen especially in the upper poles of the breasts but this will settle in due course over the next 6-12 weeks. Good luck with it all.
