Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. Normally patients with jobs that involve physical activities like yours are best to wait for at least a full month before returning to work. The best person to advise you on this would be your specific surgeon.
Thank you for your question. In regards to post operative care, it is always best to consult with your operating surgeon first, as each surgeon has their own set of post operative instructions. That being said, in our practice we advise patients to refrain from lifting anything over 5 lbs for at least 2 weeks after surgery. Many patients find they are able to resume light office work one week after surgery. Since your job involves the use of your arms and chest muscles, you may wish to consider refraining from resuming your full duties for at least a month after surgery. With kind regards,Lane F. Hello,Each Plastic Surgeon has their own preferred protocols for post op activity restrictions. I ask my patients to avoid heavy lifting- over 10lbs and strenuous upper body workouts for 6 weeks post op. Cardio and most regular activity could resume at 3. 2 weeks off is often more than enough for patients with active jobs but they may need to discuss modified work duties with their employer. All the best
You would probably be able to get back to your job at about 10 days after your operation. You would definitely still be sore at this point, but able to accomplish your job. Most importantly, this will not affect your results in a negative way. I recommend my patients take Motrin prior to going to work.
Thank you for your question and congratulations on pursuing surgery. Depending on the amount of force that your massage style creates across your chest I would recommend at least two weeks and possibly up to four to avoid implant malposition issues. Hope this helps.
Most patients after breast augmentation and liposuction can go back to work in a few days. Physically demanding jobs may need 2 weeks or longer. Most of my professional/amateur athletes go back practicing in 2 weeks.Best Wishes, nana Mizuguchi, MD
Your plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to returning to your specific line of work. He/she will know how you are progressing and whether or not you have experienced any complications. Generally, most patients are able to return to a “desk job” within 5 to 7 days. More strenuous work, for example involving lifting or extensive upper body movement, will require more time off. In your case, given your relatively strenuous occupation, you may need anywhere from 2-4 weeks off, unless you are able to return to some type of modified duty. Generally, I ask patients to ease back into activity slowly and "listen to their bodies" as they do so.Best wishes.
Somebreast augmentation patients can return to work that doesn't require muchphysical exertion after only 3 or 4 days, even if they combine the procedurewith Smartlipo. As a massage therapist, I imagine you need to use your upperbody quite a bit to create pressure. Because this could compromise the resultsof your breast augmentation, I would recommend you take at least 3 weeks off.If you aren't able to take the necessary time off, perhaps you can postpone theprocedure until the timing is better.
As a massage therapist your convalescence would be longer than the sedentary person. Plan to be out of work for at least 2-3 weeks. DrBurnett#realself100
Thank you for your question. I suggest that patients don't lift any more than 10-15 pounds for 4 weeks following her breast augmentation, especially when the implants are placed under the muscle. If your work does not require that you generate more than that amount of force, it should be okay for you to return to work within a week or so. Repetitive activity is not necessarily restricted after a breast augmentation provided it does not involve much force as just mentioned. I recommend that he speak with your surgeon about returning to work.
I would suggest that you contact your surgeon as soon as possible to discuss your concerns and make an appeal for some kind of refund, which would be reasonable at this point. Good luck.
Hi Maggie,Its too early to think about size and shape being too big or small after surgery. What you have is normal for all patients and you need to support the pain caused by the weight of the implant by using Surgical bra most of the time and use some pain killers. In totally 2 to 3 months time...
We apply steri-strips to our breast lift and breast augmentation incisions. Our patients shower the day after their procedure. These steri-strips tend to stay in place for a couple weeks, even with showering. I ask my patients not to remove the steri-strips until they have just about come off o...
