Great question! The answer depends on the #size of the #implants and how long they have been in place. If you have small implants and you decide to remove them within a short span of time, your natural breasts will be less impacted. Over #time, #gravity and #larger #implants could stretch out your skin. In this case, you may want to consider #revision surgery. The best advice you can receive is from your #BoardCertifiedPlasticSurgeon. Best wishes!
Hello,The smaller the implant or shorter the period of time with implants in place, the more reversable the procedure without changes to breast tissue. The larger the implant or longer the implants are in place, the less reversable the procedure and more likely breast tissue has been affected. Best of luck!
It really depends on how big the implants are, how long you have them in and the location of the implants as well.In general, the smaller the implant, the less time they are in and behind the muscle placement, all would result in the least amount of change to your breast if you ever decide to remove the implants. Having said that, there really is no guarantee you would look the same as you did before the surgery once the implants are removed. It is an important decision when you are deciding to have any kind of surgery, especially one that changes the way you feel and look. Good luck.
The larger the implant the more stretch of the breast. This certainly could lead to increase skin laxity. Consider this before having surgery
Hello 'audrinapatterson', thanks for your question. Depending on how large you go with the augmentation, yes, the implants will stretch your native breast tissue to accommodate the larger size. If later on you decide to get them removed, there is a chance that you may need a breast lift in order to restore the perky contour of the youthful breast. There are multiple factors that affect the chances of this including the size of the implants that are removed, your age, the elasticity of your native breast tissue, stretch marks, if you are a smoker, other comorbidities, how long the implants have been in, etc. Be sure to see a board-certified plastic surgeon for your surgery and let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck!-Dr.92660
Over the years, breast implants tend to result in a loss of elasticity of the breast skin and internal supporting structures, as well as a thinning out of the breast tissue and skin. The smaller the implant the less this effect of the implant on the breast. Even without implants, however, women sustain this type of change due to the influence of pregnancy, weight change, hormones, cigarette smoking, sun exposure, age, and other factors. When implants are removed, the breasts will usually look different than they did prior to augmentation surgery. Some of this difference will be due to the effect of the implants mentioned above, but some will be due to the other factors mentioned. Implants will play a role in the difference, and the smaller the implant, the less of a role they will play. Also, the longer the implants were in, the greater the effect. To say that all changes are the fault of the implant, however, neglects to take into consideration the other factors. The reality, though, is that most women who have their implants removed still find that their breasts are attractive. An uplift many be necessary, but this may have been necessary even without implants because of the natural tendency of the breasts to droop with time.Hope this is of help!
Hello audrinapatterson, hope your having a great start to your weekend, thank you for the question, the smaller the cc of the implant or shorter the period of time with implants in place, the more reversible the procedure without changes to breast tissue. The larger the cc of the implant or longer the implants are in place, the less likely reversible the procedure and the bigger the probability of the breast tissue to be affected. Are you thinking about having a revision or removal altogether? Please make sure you seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon, best wishes!
The short answer is yes, having a breast augmentation will alter your natural breast shape and size. First, there will be a scar on your breast from surgery, which will be permanent even if you have them removed. Second, the implants will stretch out the skin and breast tissue overlying them. The larger the implant, and the longer it remains in place, the more the breast is affected. If you are naturally very small breasted and you select large implants, you would have excess or redundant skin if you had the implants removed. Lastly, adding an implant, especially a large one, increases the effect that gravity will have on your breasts. Overtime, this may make your breast envelope and breast tissue ptotic (droopy). Many people having implants removed require a mastopexy (lift and reshaping) to improve the look of their natural breast after implants. It is definitely something to consider when thinking about augmentation. Good luck.
Breast implants can permanently affect the shape of your breasts, especially if you choose large implants. If you are considering removing the implants even before you get them, you may want to rethink getting implants.
Breast implants will stretch out your skin and if removed will result in sagging and droopy breast skin. You can get a lift to tuck out the redundant skin.
A lot of us throw around the term gummy bear for the most part referring to the 5th generation gel implants (although some may use it for 4th generation ). Those 5th generation gel implants have more cohesive gel that when you cut the implant in half it doesn't ooze and run it maintains its ...
This is a question that should be addressed by your surgeon. In general, when considering an elective operation such as breast augmentation, this should be performed when the patient is in good health. This would require an assessment by your surgeon. In addition, your surgeon would want to be...
