Thank you for your question regarding procedures to tighten excess skin. Thank you for your history and pictures. Regarding your abdomen, you have excess skin and, perhaps more importantly, a weak anterior abdominal wall. This can be seen on your profile view because the abdomen distends, significantly below the belly button. If you have liposuction performed, the abdomen will still distend. Because this is weakened muscle, the best treatment for your abdomen would be a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. During a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, an incision is placed low, and dissection is done up to the sternum. The rectus abdominis, or six, pack muscles, are sutured together, and the anterior abdominal wall is flattened. Then the excess skin and fat from typically the pubic region to the top of the belly button is removed, and the belly button is relocated. I believe anything short of this procedure; you will still have a protuberant belly from underneath the belly button to the pubic region. Liposuction will probably make it worse because you will eliminate only the fat. Good luck with your tummy tuck. Based on your pictures, you may get significant improvement in your profile abdominal contour by having a mini tummy tuck performed. A mini tummy tuck addresses skin laxity below the belly button and if done correctly, results in a flatter abdomen and a well concealed scar. A mini tummy tuck can remove the loose skin, however the tradeoff would be the surgical experience and a horizontal scar. Depending on your goal, the result may also not be satisfactory for you, since some skin may remain to allow for movement.

Your problem has a very straightforward solution. A skin only mini tummy tuck should give you a very nice result. Your scar would be hidden under your underwear. I am surprised your plastic surgeons did not give you this option. Good luck.

I would need to pinch the area to see if there is much superficial fat that would be accessible to liposuction but it seems like there’s not much. However definitely would not do a tummy tuck. I don’t think it would help at all and not worth the scar

You might do very well with minimally invasive radiofrequency skin tightening like ThermiTight or Renuvion to tighten your skin.

During liposuction there is an amount of scar tissue that your body builds up in the layer between skin and underlying muscles. this scar tissue comes in the form of a mesh and helps with skin redundancy overall.
