Hello, thank you for your question. In your case, I would suggest a tummy tuck with liposuction. Liposuction will allow us to create a tighter look while the tummy tuck will get rid of the appearance that you seem to be concerned about. Removal of excess skin is a permanent procedure...... unless something happens to stretch out the skin again such as weight gain and weight loss. After the surgery, you will need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and if you do that, your surgical results should be permanent.
You would definitely benefit from liposuction and Abdominoplasty. To answer your question, it is not a permanent solution. Even though we can do Vaser liposuction along with your procedure, it is impossible to remove all the fat cells. What that means is, it is still possible to gain weight after the procedure. With a decent diet and moderate exercise you would be able to maintain your results. Yes, an abdominoplasty is a permanent correction. It appears you would benefit from a tummy tuck. I recommend an abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more flatten abdomen by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Thank you for your question regarding the longevity of an abdominoplasty. Thank you for your history, and thank you for your pictures. Yes, the best procedure for you would be a complete abdominoplasty. During a complete abdominoplasty, excess skin and fat from the top of the pubic region to above the belly button are permanently removed. The belly button is reestablished to a more anatomic position, and the rectus abdominis muscle is sutured to flatten your abdomen on profile. Also, excess skin and fat in the pubic region are eliminated. It would be ideal to lose more weight before the procedure, but I think you can embark upon a tummy tuck. You are correct that a complete abdominoplasty is better for you than liposuction. Liposuction alone would leave you with loose hanging skin, which would not be optimal. Therefore, I agree you need a complete abdominoplasty. Good Luck. Sincerely,Dr. Katzen
A full abdominoplasty comprehensively removes skin and fat from the entire abdomen. If coupled with strategic liposuction of your flanks and back, it will help provide a more “V” tapered silhoutte as well as address the appearance of your protruding abdomen. As for having permanent results, your results will remain permanent granted you remain within 5-10 pounds of your post operative weight. I generally recommend my patients to be within 5-`10 lbs of their goal weight for a period of 3 months in order to have optimal outcomes in the long-term.
Thank you for your question and for uploading pictures. You are a candidate for a tummy tuck. I would suggestadding liposuction to give you better results
Dear Independent601615,based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello! A tummy tuck can offer long-lasting results, but it does not guarantee that the changes will be permanent in all circumstances. Although excess skin is removed during the procedure, factors such as aging and weight fluctuations can affect the result over time. But to maintain the results of your surgery, I recommend leading a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise. It is always good to discuss your expectations and post-operative care with your surgeon to obtain the best guidance. You can text us via whatsapp 1-829-554-6062 so that we can give you the necessary recommendations abaout surgery. A pleasure to help.
Good evening Independent601615,I hope this message finds you well. A abdominoplasty would be a significant procedure involving liposuction along with a skin reduction procedure which would give you a much more refined and contoured outlook showing a defined waist. It can also be used to create more defined abdominal muscle definition. It would continue to remain as good of an outcome so long as you control your diet and continue to exercise regularly. Since most of the fat cells and deposits are evacuated from those spaces, a return of fat in those areas are rare but not completely gone. Although an image is a great starting point , I would recommend a video consultation / in person consultation with a board certified Aesthetic Plastic surgeon to take this forward and thoroughly answer your query.Dr. Pranav Reddy JambulaIAAPS, ISAPS, APSI, APRAS, ASI MemberMBBS, MS, MCH, IAAPS Fellow
Thanks for asking. BMI is one factor we use to assess safety and risk (anesthesia, wound healing, clots). Many surgeons prefer candidates at or below the low-30s with stable weight and optimized health. I encourage aiming for weight stability and addressing medical risks first; that typically...
You may need a small amount of fat transferred back into that area for it appears to have been thinned of fat.
Congratulations on your weight loss. Performing surgery while you are on ASA to protect your stent from clotting could result in bleeding and other complications afterward. Surgeons usually avoid operating on people on the ASA for this very reason. A single aspirin will affect your body’s a...
