3 years pos op abdominoplasty circumferential, experiencing abdominal tightness. Thoughts?

49 year old male. Had abdominoplasty circumferential. My right side abdominal is constantly tight & pulling. Now still 3 years after the procedure. Right Hip flexor constantly pulling. Never goes away. Hard to ride a bike with no pain. Any ideas here what's going on?

The tightness could be due to scar tissue formation or adhesions, which can sometimes cause ongoing pulling sensations and restrict movement. Scar tissue may tether to surrounding structures and cause discomfort during activities like cycling. Additionally, it’s possible that the abdominal fascia or the connective tissue might still be affected from the initial surgery, especially if there was any significant muscle tightening (plication) performed.

I recommend scheduling a consultation with your plastic surgeon or a specialist familiar with post-operative rehabilitation. They may suggest imaging to rule out any internal adhesions or scar tissue issues. In some cases, physical therapy, specifically working with a therapist who specializes in post-surgical recovery, can help to release tight areas and improve mobility.
