Hi and thank you for your question! Any swelling following filler should be fully resolved within 2 weeks and at that time point, it is possible to do an accurate assessment on the results. Whenever there is a concern with lack of results following an injection, the best approach is to do a follow up with your physician and ask for a comparison between current pictures and pictures taken before the procedure. Almost always, side-by-side comparison of pictures can show the points of improvement and alleviate the concerns. I hope it helps and good luck!  

I am sorry to hear about your disappointment with the result. It is always best to inform the provider about how this treatment failed to meet your expectations as he/she knows the before effect.  If you are still not happy with their treatment after this conversation it may not be a bad idea to gain the opinion of another plastic surgeon to see if additional filler or other measures will improve the static lines, skin quality and texture in this area. Not everyone is a good candidate for this treatment so please see a Board Certified or Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon to evaluate if you may benefit. "Cosmetic" surgeons are not necessarily trained in Plastic Surgery so always make sure you know your surgeon's background, experience, and training. Good luck!

Always post before and after so we can see the changes. You should return to speak to your injector about your results and discuss your options. You bought only one syringe in an area that is difficult to get great results. Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated.  Unfortunately without having performed the injections it is difficult to render a true opinion.  Often vertical lip lines are best treated with a combination of Botox, fillers, and skin resurfacing treatments.  Hope this helps.

This is difficult to answer without before and after pictures. Deeper lines need a combination approach of fillers with Botox, lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

I find Volbella to be a nice choice of filler for perioral lines, it does need to be injected accurately and superficially. If you are not happy you should review the result with your injector using before and after photos. Another potential option in your case could be a little Volbella in the upper lip to smooth out the perioral region at the same time as direct injection to that area.

Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo.  I'm sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with the results of your Volbella treatment.  It's difficult to assess your final results without reviewing your photos before treatment.  That said, I find that in many cases, patients with deeper lines around their mouths often benefit from a combination of treatments, including filler injections, chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing.  I would recommend that you follow-up with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss the best treatment plan for you.  Best of luck!     

Hello,It would be more helpful to have a photo (before) and also when trying to whistle. If you have strong muscle activity in upper lip then 3-4 units of Botox could help to relax the musclesBeing said it may be possible that the filler was injected a bit deeper than expected. Belotero and Vobello are best for superficial injection.I also would add a bit of lip contouring of upper lip which would help to shape up better.Have a f/u visit and inquire about Botox as well as lip contouring with filler

Sorry, impossible to comment accurately without before and after photos. Also knowing the technique and level of injection is super important. Filler placed deeply will have little impact on these static lines. It has to be placed superficially, additionally I often combine laser resurfacing , or microneedling PRP with fillers in this situation to achieve the best results. My choice of filler in this area is either Juvederm Volbella, Boletero Balance, Restylane range or even hyper dilute Radiesse. Various techniques including cross hatching etc... are best. Dr Davin S.
