Is Volbella best for deep lines and ridges?

I recently had the Volbella filler in my forehead due to a very deep vertical line between my eyes. Is that the best for of filler to fill deep ridges or are others more beneficial?

I usually don't go straight to a filler for the frown lines. I prefer either Botox or Dysport, but using a filler might be required in some patients with very deep lines. The Botox/Dysport also makes the filler results last longer - so combination therapy is the best for deep lines.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Volbella is best for fine lines and wrinkles while a filler like juvederm volift is for medium size wrinkles. Ultraplus for more thicker lines and folds.

It sounds like you may not be satisfied with your treatment. Personally, I wouldn’t choose Volbella for the glabellar lines. Volbella is a very thin dermal filler that’s best for filling in fine and shallow wrinkles, such as those around the lips. It’s also excellent for lip augmentation because it looks and feels very natural. For the glabellars, I would choose a thicker filler such as Restylane Refyne or Lyft.  Consulting with a board-certified dermatologist who has experience rejuvenating the face with dermal fillers and has many to choose from will give you the best outcome.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Depending on the depth of the line will determine the filler I would recommend.  Volbella works best on the superficial creases usually seen around the lips but can also be used in the forehead and between the eyes.  Moderate creases can be improved with Restylane Refyne/Defyne or Vollure, and deep creases Juvederm Ultra Plus.  Hope this helps.

Good question. I typicaly use combination of botox and voluma instead of volbella to treat the deep wrinkles in the glabellar area. If the wrinkles are very superficial then I use juvederm ultra. the best opinion ca be given by examining the area of concern. Either way after the initial treatment follow up on botox is very important.

In my experience Volbella is best for fine lines and wrinkles. The filler is very thin and Best used for lines and wrinkles around the mouth, lip augmentation and even tear troughs but not for deep wrinkles. I would suggest a combination of Botox and thicker fillers like Juvaderm ultra plus , Radiese for deep lines between your your eyes.

The area between the eyebrows is called the glabella.  Lines here are usually treated with Botox or Dysport in order to reduce the underlying muscle movement that causes the lines.  However, they can also be treated with fillers.  Volbella is usually injected into very fine, superficial lines, such as the ones that form around the mouth.  It sounds as though your line was deeper than the ones in which we usually inject Volbella.  I generally use slightly thicker fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane in this area.  If you are not satisfied with your results, you should return to the provider.  I do always recommend that you only have filler injected by a physician who specializes in aesthetic medicine.

Most of us would use BOTOX or Dysport as our first line treatment. This relaxes the wrinkles called dynamic wrinkles. Static wrinkles, can, if needed by treated with Juvederm Volbella, Restylane etc. Often a combined approach, separated by a few weeks will give the best results. Dr Davin Lim.
