I broke my nose a year ago and now theres a hump on top (seen from profile). Also septum is bent and right part of nose is thicker and wider. I want to fix it because people tell me how my nose looks weird! What should I do? Thank you.
Answer: Rhinoplasty to straighten the crooked nose, septoplasty for functional breathing A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish straightening the crooked nose and shaving down the dorsal hump after an accident. The septum on the internal portion of the nose can also be straightened to improve functional breathing, once medical necessity has been documented at the time of the examination and consultation. A septoplasty and a rhinoplasty can be performed to straighten the nose and improve the breathing, but anticipate paying for the cosmetic component yourself. A septoplasty and rhinoplasty are usually performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient surgical procedure. Anticipate a cast applied across the bridge of the nose for one week and visible bruising and swelling for 10-14 days. For more information and many examples, please see the video and the link below

Answer: Nose crooked after accident. The internal and external nasal areas that you described and would like improved can be addressed with a nasal surgery (rhinoplasty) and a septoplasty which are typically done at the same time. A natural appearing nose can be achieved when the procedures are performed by an artistic plastic surgeon with extensive experience in nasal surgery.Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on a limited two dimensional photo without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.Robert Singer, MD FACSLa Jolla, California

Answer: Revision, some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns about your Rhinoplasty with us.After having analyzed all the info and photos provided to us, i recommend to perform a Secondary Rhinoplasty (not a tip revision) this means (basically) treat the nasal bones and the nasal cartilages. Therefore i would perform a narrowing of the nasal base (nose osteotomy) and alar and triangular cartilage shaping.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
