1 week post face and brow lift, do I have necrosis? I vape but had zero nicotine 2 wks prior to surgery. (photos)

From your photos it does not appear to me that you have skin necrosis after your facelift. It looks like bruising that is commonly seen. However, please follow-up with your plastic surgeon. 

Hi and thanks for your question.  I do think that you have some superficial necrosis.  This should resolve with time.  You say that you have not had any nicotine for 2 weeks.  I tell my patients not to have any nicotine exposure for 1 month before and after surgery and I tell my patients that it would be optimal to never have any nicotine ever again.

My best recommendation to you at this point is to follow closely with your surgeon as he will be better to follow you in person.  Best of luck! 

It is simply not possible to give you a valid response to whether you have skin necrosis of this is bruising, from just your photos.  You should be in contact with your surgeon who is in the best position to care for you and manage what issues you are concerned with.  Best wishes.

Hello, thank you for your questions and  photos. It is difficult to judge based on your photos alone or whether this is bruising and or early partial thickness necrosis. I would recommend that you follow up diligently with your plastic surgeon regarding potential postoperative care and recommendations. Best of luck.

It appears that you have some ischemia and bruising. It does not look like its full necrosis at this point. Things that I find beneficial for marginal skin are no smoking, hyperbaric oxygen, and some silvadene or luxamend cream to affected areas. As always follow the instructions of your plastic surgeon. I hope this helps!

Thank you for your pictures and questions. I do not see any overt signs of necrosis but there is some bruising and some skin that is probably marginal. Just to be safe, I would stop anything that might be contributing, including the vapes. The only thing you can do at this point is to wait and be patient. Over time the skin will demarcate and I bet things will turn out better than you think, it is still very early.Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question.I do not think at this point there is skin necrosis, it appears you have some very dark bruising. I would continue to follow the instructions from your surgeon and stay away from vaping. I think everything will turn around over the next couple weeks. Good luck with recovery.

At this early stage it just looks like bruising to the flap, this will most likely settle down over the next few weeks

Good afternoon, thank you for your question and photos.  I week post op can have bruising that appears dark purple and some swelling.  The sutures near the ear appears to have dry blood.  It is always best to consult with your surgeon to confirm that tissue perfusion is adequate and wound healing is optimal.  Also, if your surgeon has given you a compressive garment to wear it would be important to keep it on to reduce swelling and give the incision line some support.
