Seven weeks post op. Do I need revision. Will I be charged again? What happens if ps cuts the muscle as she suggested? I am 61 and neck is what bothered me more than anything. Thank you

Your results noted from your photo may be nicely improved with a platysmaplasty. Discuss with your ps the possibility of doing this procedure. Any charges would be between you and your surgeon. The separation that you have with the platysma muscle bands should be nicely improved, giving a smoother neck.

I see this often in my practice. It does appear you have prominent neck bands after your procedure. However there is a remedy. Surgery with a midface/neck lift will help by addressing the underlying muscles of the neck as well as botox to soften the bands.  Both of these should help your issues. I hope this helps!

It would be helpful to provide before and after photos and whether or not the bands were trimmed and sutured together during your surgery.  Although all surgeons look at the neck differently, I prefer to cut them and resurure them together.  Hope this helps!

3 weeks is a little early to tell the final postoperative result. Please be patient your body and the healing time. If you need a revision, you should speak with your plastic surgeon. Whether or not she or he charges you depends on the financial policy of the group. In terms of cutting the muscle, I am assuming you are talking about partially cutting the platysma bands? That is usually done to reduce how prominent the platysma muscle appears. Good luck with your recovery.

It is always difficult to comment on results without seeing preop photos. There are non surgical options e.g. botox and further surgery - although this depends on what has been done prevsiouly.

These look like muscle bands in the neck and can be repaired through a small submental incision,suturing them together. Pictures would be a help to evaluate what you looked like before surgery including multiple views.

Way too early to tell. First try some botox or dysport in the bands which should help by reducing their muscle power.

Based on your photos, it does not appear you had a standard facelift.  It would be helpful if you could post your before and after photos for comparison.  Make an appointment with your surgeon to discuss exactly what was done in your procedure.  There is a big difference in a mini facelift and a real facelift.  Before you judge your result, you need to understand the procedure you had.
