Where are incisions placed with temporal lift, should middle forehead be lifted at same time?

Hello! The temple lift is performed with incisions placed laterally in the temple or widow's peak area and is designed to only lift the tail of the brow. If the central brow needs lifting, a full brow lift is more appropriate. The temple lift is typically reserved for a younger patient with minimal sag to the outer brow, or a patient who failed a previous brow lift with lateral sag. Good luck!

Incisions for a temporal lift are placed over the temporalis muscle within the hairline and are typically between 3 and 6 cm in length.  A pretrichial incision just at the hairline may be made in some cases.  this incision allows access to lift the lateral brow and/or the midface.  If the attention is browlifting the need for medial release of the brow depends on the desired final shape and position of the brow.

Hello and thank you for your question concerning the temporal lift procedure. Incisions for this procedure are usually placed laterally, within the hair line in the temporal area. Most incisions can be hidden within the hair line and will fade with time to be less detectable. With regards to whether you should have a medial brow lift at the same time, this depends on whether or not you need or want rejuvenation in that area as well. Schedule several in-person consultations with board-certified facial plastic surgeons in your area to get their opinions on the best procedure or combination of procedures for your particular needs and aesthetic goals. Good luck! - Elbert T. Placement of incisions for facial aesthetic survey varies with the surgeon and the patient's anatomy and desires.  There are options for all procedures.  But rest assured, you have seen a lot of women (and men) who have had every facial surgery imaginable and yet haven't noticed more than a tiny fraction of them (unless you're a hairdresser or really like to inspect people closely).  It's a good question to be answered by your surgeon during your consultation because as I said above, there are options.

 In our practice, placement of four head incision can be located either at the hairline or behind the hairline. When patients have a high hairline, the hairline itself can be lowered in the four had shortened at the same time is raising the eyebrows. There are many options for a browlift which speaks to the fact that no one procedure fits all patients.  It is impossible to answer your question without photos, but a temporal lift incision lies just behind the hairline and usually extends from just above the ear to the level of the temple.  Other options using incisions well behind the hairline to lift the central forehead result tin elevation of the hairline, so if you have a high hairline ost surgeons would avoid this.  Endoscopes can be used as well and sometime incisions in the upper lid can be used.  Find a board certified plastic surgeon and ask him/her questions and look at photos.

Thank you for the question. In my thirty years experience I have always consulted patients to do what gives you the look you want. In this particular case, the temporal incisions are placed laterally to control the vector you lift your lateral brows with.It is easy to do, and gives good results. The resulting scar is minimal, and the lateral brow position is improved. The central lift is designed to relocate the medial brow and provide access to your frown muscles which can be removed at the same time. This will give a flatter appearance to your glabella without the frown look. I advise you to seek the consult of an experienced board certified plastic surgeon as a place to start.  Hi, I have performed many Brow Lifts and facelifts for over 30 years.  Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation along with a better understanding of what you are trying to accomplish aesthetically.  Are you looking to lift the eyebrows (Brow Lift), rejuvenate the eyelids (upper and/or lower which is a Blepharoplasty) or are you interested in lifting /shaping the mid or lower face (Facelift)?  The reality is, there are many different ways to perform each of these procedures from incision placement, length, method of elevation, amount of tissue removed and methods of shaping the "key aesthetic" facial features (Cheeks, Eye Area, Chin, Jaw line and Lips).  In general terms, it's always best to hide incisions within the hairline when possible and appropriate to the procedure being performed.Hope this helps.
