Answer: Both my nipples are numb. I literally cannot feel them when I touch them, is that normal? Temporary numbness of the nipples can occur after breast augmentation surgery. If this is a temporary phenomena sensation should return by 6 weeks. If you have unusual sensations such as sharp pains or other abnormal feeling occurring spontaneously it can be a good sign that sensation will return. The risk of permanent numbness of the nipple after breast augmentation is about 5%. It would be unusual to lose sensation on both sides permanently. Of course discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Answer: Both my nipples are numb. I literally cannot feel them when I touch them, is that normal? Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon to experience hypo or hypersensitivity that early after surgery. The good news is that permanent loss of nipple sensation is extremely rare. Of those women who reports loosing feeling, 90% got it back over the next year. Please consult with your plastic surgeon about ongoing concerns. Good luck!
