I can't hardly express how grateful I am. Seriously, Dr. Fatseas is the most compassionate doctor, of any discipline, I have ever had. I was initially interested in another procedure for facial acne scarring, but after he listened to my concerns, he recommended ablative resurfacing. After having had many previous laser, and other treatments (e.g. micro dermal abrasion, non ablative resurfacing laser, etc) from other medical practices , I was skeptical about spending money on the procedure, so I said I'd think about it. He allowed me to come back for a second consult, afterwards, I was convinced to book ablative resurfacing.
Ablative resurfacing is serious enough to be considered a surgery. Traditionally (such as in my case), ablative resurfacing requires some weeks (patience is key) of downtime (whereas fractionally ablative procedures require just a few days), redness for several weeks later, and zinc oxide (physical) sunblock. There are, of course, risks associated with fully ablative resurfacing, but in my case, I would do it again without hesitation! Serious scars require serious resurfacing!
Downtime for me was not an issue, because I had such severe acne scarring. What most doctors don't seem to understand, is that the debilitating psychological and emotional scars that result from severe facial acne scarring, are just as deep, or perhaps, FAR deeper, than the facial scarring itself. Thus making it a MEDICAL IMPERATIVE for people like me. This makes whatever downtime, inconvenience, or discomfort that may result from the procedure irrelevant to those of us that know what these type of scars do to a person. It took some aggressive treatments to get me closer to where I should be, but Dr. Fatseas displayed generosity, patience, kindness, and willingness to help bring the contour back to my face!
Unlike most other doctors, Dr. Fatseas understood what I needed, and what ablative resurfacing would mean for me! Thank You for everything Dr. Fatseas!
