Dr. Jennifer Harb changed my life. I had struggled for years, having had multiple disastrous rhinoplasties that left my nose with severe scars and breathing issues. After 4 horrific surgeries, my nose was extremely damaged, non-functional and cosmetically a disaster. I was truly devastated and depressed with how I looked, and had lost all hope of ever having my nose properly fixed. Then I found doctor Harb, the kindest and most professional doctor I have ever encountered. She took photos and showed me examples of what she would be able to do. What I saw was incredible. She spent extensive time with me, thoroughly and patiently answering every question I had, going above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. (She even called me personally to reassure me about some concerns I was having as she could feel how nervous and hesitant I was due to my previous experiences with other surgeons) After deciding to let her perform my Revision Rhinoplasty, I was truly amazed. The precision and perfection of my nose is beyond belief. What Dr. Harb did for me was incredible. I cannot thank her enough. Not only can I breath again, but cosmetically my nose is flawless. When she removed my cast and bandages and I saw my new nose for the first time, I was speechless. It was a breathtaking and emotional moment. I saw myself in a way I never imagined would be possible. Dr. Harb exceeded every expectation. What Dr. Jennifer Harb did for me is extraordinary and I cannot thank her enough. She is truly the most wonderful, warm-hearted, talented and professional surgeon...second to none.
The doctor was amazing. She was very informative about what to expect regarding the surgery and recovery. They were incredibly accommodating to needs and concerns both before surgery and during and after recovery. And best part, I CAN BREATHE.

Nasal tip swelling will take at least one full year to resolve, sometimes longer depending on your particular surgery and your nasal anatomy. The nasal tip will, very commonly, feel more rigid and tight; as swelling decreases, this typically improves significantly. However, the tip will likely not return to its pre-operative softness. The nasal tip, after rhinoplasty, usually has sutures and cartilage grafts and will naturally form scar tissue during the healing process. This will cause the nose to feel more firm and rigid than a non-operated nose. This does tend to improve over the course of years, but it is unlikely to fully return to its pre-operative feel.
It is normal for the nose to be swollen after having an infection, and this swelling may linger for weeks depending on the extent of your infection and your nose anatomy. However, any redness or pain may indicate a persistent infection, and this should be monitored very closely. A nasal infection, depending on the extent, can cause nasal damage and scars. A rhinoplasty can correct this in some cases, but may surgeons, myself included, wait around one year before operating to ensure that the nose is fully healed from the infection, all swelling is gone, and scar tissue has had time to settle.
A foul odor could potentially mean an infection, and therefore you should see either your surgeon or the surgeon who is covering for your doctor if he/she is out of town and cannot see you personally. If you have an infection, it could damage the work that was done and impair your nasal healing. Not all foul odors necessarily mean infection, but it would be important to rule this out, especially post-operatively.
At only three weeks post-operatively, it will be very difficult to tell if the bump you're pointing out is due to swelling or not. The nasal bridge will take at least 3 months - and sometimes longer - to fully come down from all the swelling. With that being said, for any questions, you should see your surgeon because he or she will be able to give you a better assessment. Sometimes taping helps, but I would not start this without discussing with your surgeon first.
In my opinion, nose taping is not absolutely mandatory after a rhinoplasty, however it can impact your results in select circumstances. I will, at times, suggest taping the nose to try to reduce swelling sooner or to help a nose heal in a particular way. Taping the nasal tip may help the nose from drooping minimally, but the most important determinations for this are your anatomy, the nasal support that was created/reinforced during surgery, and your skin thickness.
