After years of braces as a teenager, I was disappointed when my teeth moved back when I stopped wearing my retainer. Traditional braces were not an option for me, so I thought I was stuck. I told Dr. Orlando about my situation, and he presented the perfect solution - Invisalign! Effectively, I wore a series of clear trays that straightened my teeth without anyone noticing. As an added bonus, I could not eat with my trays in. It curbed my snacking, and I lost weight! After my last tray, Dr. Orlando had me keep my trays so I could use them for bleaching and for retainers. He also put in a permanent retainer to prevent the shift from happening again. Dr. Orlando always provides me cost effective, timely solutions which put a smile on my face. Thank you!
Good Afternoon,I have been placing minimally-invasive dental implants for the last 5 years and honestly there is zero pain after implant placement. 90% of the patients go to work right after the procedure. I plan the entire case on the computer with 3d technology and do the entire case as "guided surgery". No incision / no stitches / no pain!
Hello, I would advise getting a second opinion and getting a CBCT scan to see exactly where the implant is in regards to the bone. Was the surgery planned and placed using 3d guided technology? You already had 1 implant fail, the bone may be fragile there. Best of Luck!
Good Afternoon, I would suggest getting to a qualified dentist as soon as possible. You have to determine what happened. Sometimes during surgery, if not guided, the dentist can misplace the implant. A CT scan is only the first step, the next is ACTUALLY doing the surgery guided and planned on the computer so you do not come across surprises or missteps during the procedure. Another possibility is that the dentist "overheated" the bone during placement. The next step is to get another CBCT and see what the bone looks like now - sometimes you can place another implant. You may have to do a bone graft and wait or may be able to place a new implant and graft at the same time. I would suggest to get to someone that understands guided dental implant placement and grafting and go from there.Best of Luck!
Good Afternoon. I would suggest getting a full set of x-rays, a good set of models of your teeth, and a full set of photos of your teeth, your smile, and your face. Get a thorough comprehensive exam and explore ALL of your options being sure to go over the risk / benefit of each. Sometimes a quick fix will cause more damage in the long run, sometimes it will not. Sometimes you may need gum or bone surgery prior to the suggested treatment. Take your time, find someone you trust, go over your options and then you can make a truly informed decision of what makes the most sense for YOU at this time!Best of Luck!
Good Afternoon, I am a dentist in NYC and I have not heard of this Venlay procedure - can you explain the process you went through?
