Treatments for Dark Spots on the Bikini Line?

I get really bad razor bumps on my bikini line and it leaves brown spots that just won’t go away. I actually get dark spots after every scar and I was told it is because I’m African American.

I don’t think that I should have areas on my skin that are so significantly darker. Now I’m not able to wear a bikini and it’s just really taking a toll on my self esteem...please help? What can I do to get rid of the dark areas?
